What are you/did you do for their first birthday? We are getting people together at my mom and dad's house since we are still house hunting. Any ideas would be appreciated. How did they get to be one so fast [IMG]

I know what you mean! I can't believe it's been a year, so fast.

We're just doing an outside bbq...hamburgers or chicken. And I think probably a pinata for the kids (there'll be lots of kids coming that will be old enough) and I'm going to ask my sisters to do face painting. I'm thinking of maybe printing out some coloring pages and have spots at the picnic tables for coloring, too.

A friend of mine did a little "under the sea" theme for her kids' bday. She had some really cute stuff, including a little wading pool with a fishing game. Another friend of mine did a "barnyard animals" theme for their 1st bday. I think we're going to go with trains this year.

I have my boys which will be one april and my 3 yr old shell be 3 the 26th of this month, so were having a party all together this year, seen as I can get away with it!!! Its going to be a dora/Deigo theme.. My daughter loves dora and then I threw in there Deigo for the boys.. Its cold here so were all going to be in our house, itll be a FULL house. Not really sure what to do for in door games that doesnt take much space, still thinking of that. I am going to have a cupe cakes for the boys .. and a cake for morgan.. !

We are going to have a BBQ. I'm not sure on the the theme yet, I'm still tossing that up. But I'm thinking about having a icecream cake for the guest and little cakes for the girls.

We will be having a BBQ theme too with Wiggles stuff (my guys like Wiggles A LOT) and some sparklers cauz its around 4th of July.

You could do an Spring, Easter theme. My DS' birthday is April 15th and we always have an egg hunt for his birthday and invite all the kids (well maybe that's something to think about for the future anyway).

    Have fun [IMG]

We're still 7 months away (lol) but I already know I'm doing a sesame street theme...my kids adore elmo and can't get enough of him. We don't have many kids that will be attending so I will mostly just do sesame street decorations and an elmo cake. And goodie bags for the kids that do come with pencils, erasers, asome candy and perhaps some stickers.

LOL here too...we're 6 months away and I'm already planning! We're going to do "pretty in pink". My sister-in-law makes cakes, so we will have a cake for each of them one white with pink decorations and the other reversed. I was thinking of potentially cotton candy as party favors and we're going to do Rachael Ray style mini-burgers as well as chicken kabobs. My dh and I keep calling it the "birthday bonanza". One reason I'm going all out is because we are in our mid 30's, it took us a while to have children, and we have paid our dues at dozens of our friends/families kids' birthday parties. It's our turn!

I'm sure anything you decide to do will be great. Good luck with your decision!

We're just doing an open house since we're still in RSV season - there really won't been many kids there - and the ones that will be are as young as ours or younger - it's more for DH and I to celebrate that we made it this far!!! Going to do sandwich platters, salads (fruit and veggie), and cupcakes - homemade carrot for the boys - chocolate, vanilla for the guests... I am just using green as a theme - although if I could find some Wonder Pet decorations....

thought I'd make up baggies of green jelly beans for favors - and give each of the kids coming a board book...

aaaaahhhh it's only two weeks away!!!

My kids adore Baby Einstein, so since it is "unisex" - that's the theme we are going with.

We are doing cup cakes (I bought 2 "1" babyE candles) and went all out with the decor (it's all in a box downstairs...I walk by it everyday dumbfounded that their first birthday is almost here!) I know I will cry the whole day - tears of joy, tears of rememberance and tears of I CAN'T BELIVE MY KIDS ARE ALREADY ONE!! [IMG]

Anyway, back to the party...I got the babyE "first birthday" package with some extras (hand molding kits, nice touch) I got the CUTEST custom first birthday cone hats...I hope they wear them, at least long enough for a photo.

We are doing shrimp, sandwich and fruit platters for food, beer and soda for drinks. Provided it is warm enough, we will make it a pool party (and Mama is going to be busy behind the camera - everyone else can get in the pool! LOL!)

We expect to have 5 10mo-1year olds (not including ours) and then some older kids so I am still trying to figure out party favors...but I am sure it will be fine.

Thanks for all of your ideas! We are one of the first couples out of our friends to have kids, so there will be only a few children there, and a whole lot of family! I guess I'll head out and find some decorations. Let's just hope my mom hasn't planned it all for me already....but thats a completely different topic.... [IMG]
