my LO fell off the couch yesterday. i turned around for 1 minute. i couldnt sleep all night. i keep wondering if he's ok!!!!
he's the same LO with the fever and runny nose. he was very lethargic after he fell but he was also lethargic to begin with. i have no idea what to make of anything. a fever isn't indicative of a fall, is it? his pupils were changing, too.

I'd call your pediatrician if you are concerned. Mine have taken falls off of the couch and down a couple of steps - but they have always acted normal afterwards. If you feel like he hit his head hard or is just acting "off", give your pediatrician a call!

Definitely call if you are worried. My older son fell twice down our back steps (they are brick) and he was ok. You never lose that feeling though.

I agree if you are concerned, go ahead and call. How did he fall, onto his head? His back? Onto a carpet? A rug? A hardwood floor? Mine have tumbled off our couch onto the hardwood and onto the rug and have always been fine, and it's usually a busted face that we end up with :dunno:

We've had some pretty hard falls off the couch here too, and been totally fine! If he's acting weird, or even if you think he is, it's worth a phone call for some peace of mind.

I agree with PP. Call if you are worried. I have had to call twice for falls. Once was when Callahan was five motnhs old and rolled off the bed....a three foot fall. She was of course fine, but DH and I were scared to death. The other time she flipped out of a chair and hit the top of her head on the hardwood floor. She was once again fine. The ped did make us wake her up in the middle of the night to make sure she did not have a concussion. Kids are remarkably resilient....they take falls and brush it off that would make and adult break a bone. I am sure he is fine, but you probably won't feel better until you call for yourself.
