I know my girls' birthday is 3 months away (and the party will be 3.5 months away) but I have to start planning now because it's right around Christmas. I have to get the place booked-which I would rather have it at home, but to keep peace this is the way we do things-and get invites done and sent out early.

My question is would it be weird for me to send 2 seperate invites? I know a lot of people on here have just done 1 invitation for both but I hate to do that. Everyone already just sees them as a pair and not 2 seperate individuals, you know? So, I feel like if I send 2 invites-most likely in the same envelope-then people will get it that I want them to realize that the girls aren't the same person.

Even if y'all think it's weird I will still probably send out 2 different ones, but I wanted some opinions on the matter. :p

That is funny!!! I will be honest. I personally, would not do that!! But like you said you probably will! :D  At my boys party, right before singing, I said, "ok, first we will sing to Seamus" and everyone did and then we sang to Nicholas. So you may want to do that!

I am planning on getting two different cakes - and singing for each one separately. But, as for the invites - I am going to save money on stamps and send just one! lol!

My brother and SIL do a joint party for my nieces each year as their birthdays are a month apart and we always receive one invite, even though it's for two separate kids. I totally see your point, but I would keep everything else separate and save $$ on the invites. KWIM? I agree with pp, separate cakes, separate singing, even different dresses if you want...

That's a really interesting question. I have a boy and a girl, so I have a feeling they are going to want very different thems for their parties. Probably won't make a difference at such a young age, but I wonder what people do as they get older. One party, or two? Even for both girls, what if they want a different theme (i.e. Cinderella vs Dora) ...

I would probably do one invite for now, but as they get older, I might do two invites ... and set up half the house in Dinosaurs and half in Cinderella. I know what you mean aobut wanting them to not always feel like a part of a pair.

Since the party itself cost me a fortune, I couldn't see spending 2x the amount on invites, even if you are going to put them in the same envelope. But again, you said you probably would anyway. We did get them their own smash cakes and sang to each one of them seperately.

Oh boy, Oh girl I never thought of that!! Thanks, for enlightening me. I have a few months to consider the ie=dea of different invites. Matthew and Amy will be 1 in Feb. Well, ya know what?, that's not that far away...I better do some serious thinking. My first gut response was one invite but I am not sure now.

I once saw one that was a little spoof on the Mastercard commercial....

    4,987 diapers

    6,432 bottles

    8,100 wipes....

One Year With Matthew and Amy.......PRICELESS

[I made up the numbers so don't go checkin' my math.]

This text was on a picture of the 2 babies. It was somewhere on the web. I thought it was rreally cute.

Well, thanks for the tought....I think I may like Amy to have her own ----not sure , though.
