Actually, he didn't do that much. I was due for a pap smear, so he just did that and a urine test. I go back in 2 weeks for blood work.
I then went downstairs to a MFM place and set up an ultrasound. My OB didn't think I needed one until 16 weeks, but they actually have me coming for one next week. I will go to them monthly for ultrasounds after that.
I really like my OB and am glad he is very familiar with twin pregnancies. The MFM is directly below his office which is another bonus - no new place to find!
I am kind of glad I get another ultrasound next week - love getting that reassurance [IMG]

Oh yea, I asked about weight gain and he expects me to gain around 35 pounds, although he would not have any problems with 45 pounds. I specifically asked about weight gain expectations. I didn't gain much with my ds - 25 pounds, so he is basing it on that.
I sometimes have trouble gaining weight, that is why he expects me on the low side. I have only gained one pound since my annual exam last year.

Glad to hear that things are going well! I gained around 35 pounds with my pregnancy. It was slow at first, and then after 20 weeks or so, it started to come on!

Cool that you have an MFM so close to your OB! That will make things much easier. On a side note, to you or other moms new to the U/S deal, you may want to contact your insurance to find out how many are covered. I was not allowed to have one until 20 weeks, but my OB wanted my first one at 14 weeks. So I had to jump through a few hoops and get it all straightened out. My OB helped with that too.

Maybe you will be able to find out the sexes? We found out ours at 14 weeks!!!

Luckily our insurance is really good. As long as there is a justifiable reason for ultrasound (and multiple pregnancy is one) they are covered.

A funny story about the visit though - when going over the paperwork my OB asked if I wanted my tubes tied at delivery!!
I almost laughed considering we used fertility treatments to get pregnant (with the twins, and my ds). But, after a minute I thought - it would be my luck that we got pregnant on our own after this unintentionally. So, I said "sign me up!". They have an easy way of doing it with a vaginal delivery that won't require abdominal surgery. My OB said as long as baby A is head down - he always attempt a vaginal delivery first.

That's great news -and yes SO convenient that the MFM is in the same building. Trust me - as you get bigger (and slower) you will really appreciate that!

    Sounds like a good day!

I gained 6 pounds during my pregnancy and had completely healthy babies. Try not to stress too much about the weight gain, just concentrate on the aspects you can control!
