my LOs are LOVING the puffs. is there a limit on how many i should be giving them a day? we are attempting the 3rd meal (lunch) and they are not interested in the meal. all they want is puffs!! they GOBBLE them right up!

is there other stuff i can give them besides the puffs? are they 'healthy?' lol?
im nervous to give them other foods like fruits that are cut up.

We always jokingly called them Crack Puffs because the babies were so addicted to them! There is a fair bit of sugar in them, though, so I always tried to limit them somewhat. Cheerios are a bit lower in sugar & most babies really like them as well. Small pieces of fruit & veggies are also great to give them (start with the softer fruits). Also, little cubes of bread or toast are good.

They also have in canisters these cheese puff (like cheetos) type things by gerber. They have these in different flavors as well. My babies LOVE the veggie one. Also as PP said cheerios and bread. I give my 8 month olds (on Saturady) almost anything we eat cut up. And they pick it up and eat it just fine. They had pancakes this morning and little pieces of chicken nuggets (without the breading, just the inside), with peices of macaroni and the gerber graduates apples in the jar for lunch.

But I think I do the solids faster for my kids than most people. My older son was on all table food and bottles for snack and bedtime by 9 months. Good luck and happy finger food hunting

I heard about a family the other day that calls them crack puffs. That's funny. They had a little 5 year old that would run around saying he wanted more crack please. Made for a fun conversation when they went to someone elses house and he was asking for crack. (Not sure why they were still giving this to there older kids...? Guess they just couldn't break them of their habit. Haha)

ROTFL about the baby crack! Yeah, my kids see the puffs or Cheerios come out, and they make it across the room in about half a second! PPs gave great ideas. Around here we do Puffs, Cheerios, toast, pita w/ hummus, risotto, bits of pancake/waffle without syrup, cheese, tofu, hard boiled egg yolk, little bits of cooked chicken, fish & beef, lots of cooked veggies, regular & sweet potato, banana chunks, mango, squash, small pasta like the spirals cut in half, cottage cheese (messy), avocado. I guess pretty much anything that's soft and not too spicy would be appropriate with the exception of the "no-no foods" that have to wait until a certain age like strawberries or egg white. I am now trying fix the family dinner with an eye toward what I can set aside from it as baby-friendly. Like last night we had beef stew. I just gave the kids tiny chunks of potato & carrot and shredded the meat for them to practice on, and to my complete amazement, they gobbled it right up. To me, this is the fun part, until the time comes when they start refusing certain foods and throwing it around the room rather than eating it. I'm sure that's coming. Have fun!

We use the happy baby puffs and they have 1/2 gram of sugar per 75 pieces. They are mostly flavored with banana, apple, or greens. I like them a lot and so do the girls. I laugh when I give them a puff and say, want a third of a calorie? I crush some up really fine and shake tiny pieces of banana in them so they are easier to grab. I also just started to do mango pieces and cantaloupe. I started out spoon feeding them pieces of banana in a pear or mango puree so I could tell if they could handle the chunks. I am also a HUGE advocate for baby mum-mums. They are wonderful and my 11 month old niece still loves them too!
