So I wanted to know those of you who have 9mo+ babies are they just obsessed with feeding themselves? Mine are and I have been trying to give them a variety of finger food. Though I always seem to be searching the fridge for something to give them. I hate to give them the same thing over and over.

-Wanted to know what you are feeding them for breakfast, lunch, dinner?
-Do you freeze their meals ahead of time? And how?
-Any other tips that could be useful.
-How do you portion the meals? They always seem llike they want more. Plus now they are consuming more formula too!

I found a website to get some recipes off of, but I still seem like I'm lost. Right now we have tried:
    • yogurt
    • waffles
    • raspberries
    • kiwi
    • bananas
    • stuffing
    • sweet potato
    • potato
    • watermelon
    • peaches
    • green beans (hated them)
    • pasta
-Any other veggie suggestions. I think we might try chicken tonight. Just wnated to know what others are doing and how to have little meals ready for them to eat. They don't like the baby food anymore becuase they want to feed themselves!!!

    Thanks.

This came from wholesomebabyfood.com, great site!

FRUITS take out seeds! Fruits make great baby finger foods! Colourful and highly nutritious, small soft bits of fruit will have your baby's fingers pinching away for hours!

    soft baked peaches - diced
    small dices of ripe banana
    small bits of ripe mango
    dices of ripe pears
    small dices of melon
    small bits of avocado
    squished blueberries
kiwi - diced small (seeds should be ok for baby over 10 months old)
small dices of mixed fruits for a "finger fruit salad

    VEGGIES

soft baked sweet potato dices or sweet potato fries (see below for recipe)
    soft baked white potato dices
small dices of soft cooked carrots
small dices of soft cooked peas
small dices of soft cooked broccoli
small bits of soft cooked green beans
small bits of soft baked butternut or acorn squash
small dices of soft cooked veggies mixed for a "veggie finger medley"

    OTHER OFFERINGS

tofu cubes "dusted" and diced into tiny cubes
soft cooked pasta (ditalini or cut up rotini)
    small bits of soft cheeses
small dices of soft cooked chicken, beef or turkey
cereals such as Multi-Grain Cheerios or Oatie-Os
petite toast points with a fruit puree spread or thin cream cheese

I have always fed them as much as they wanted as long as they weren't spitting it up 5 minutes later.

Sounds like you are off to a good start. By 6 months, mine had mastered pretty much every baby food known to man kind, LOL

They had eaten every flavor or veggies and fruits, and had been through the meats as well. I had a lot of different choices, and since they liked pretty much each one, I had a different menu each day as well.

At that age breakfast consisted of usually fruits and oatmeal or rice cereal.

    Lunch was meats with veggies.

    Dinner was Veggies.

    Before bedtime was cereal/oatmeal.

In between those they had a light snack and a bottle. My guys were big eaters, and still are.

It sounds like you are off to a good start. Here are some other things mine have tried and enjoyed.

    Breakfast
    -pancakes
    -toast with apple butter
    -diced pears

    Lunch/Dinner
    -ravoli
    -grilled cheese sandwich
    -pinto beans
    -baked beans
    -mac and cheese
    -chicken
    -quesidilla

Mine seem to enjoy eating whatever I offer. If they don't like it the first time, I continue to offer. Good luck!

Mine loved a lot of the above, they also liked shredded cheese, cinnamon swirl toast, and the Gerber snacks.
