So Thomas will not eat anything that is even slightly wet or slippery to the touch.

He will eat a scrambled egg though..... go figure.

    Anyways things he likes:

    Grilled Cheese
    Waffles
    Pancakes
    French Toast
    Breaded Fish, chicken!
Meatballs that I have to set out to dry some before he will touch them
    Whole Foods Veggie Straws
    Cheerios
    Mum Mums
    crackers
    Cookies

    He will not touch

    Carrots
    Peas
    Blueberries
    Raspberries
    Tofu
Anything with hummus, cream cheese or even butter on it.
    Pasta (plain or with sauce)

Also...... pureed not a thing existed he would not eat!

HELP....... he hates the spoon now and needs some veggies and fruits in his diet.

He does get 4oz. of yogurt each night with a multivitamin and a probiotic complex in it.

Oh and he only wants to drink water, not milk or even juice.

Have you tried rolling the fruits and veggies in something like wheat germ, or crushed crackers/graham crackers?

    Thats a great idea.

Also how about the Boca Soy Chicken Patties-they are breaded. Maybe you could hide some jarred carrots or other veggie in the grilled cheese??

ETA: Maybe you can hide some stuff in the eggs too?

I tried crushed cheerios with bananas (always been a favorite) NO WAY! He was soooooooo mad at me.

I did try adding sweet potatoes to homemade waffles and he ate a few bites. :)

    [SIZE=10pt]I have made apple/peach/pear pancakes & waffles.

I pureed the fruit and mixed it in the batter ~ they both loved them!

Try hiding pureed spinach and/or carrots in meatballs....that might work?

Also, I'm going to try some sweet potato "fritters" today, that I got out of the Super Baby Food book -- flesh from two cooked sweet potatoes, two tablespoons milk, one beaten egg -- mash together, form small balls, roll in wheat germ, and bake or fry. I'll let you know how they turn out.

How about dried fruit. I have no idea how they measure up to the fresh stuff in terms of nutrition as I don't eat it myself, but just a thought.

hmmmm......... maybe if I made them super thin they would get crispy and he would like them!

I keep thinking about it, but I am worried it will be hard to chew. The only dried fruit I have had is mango and it is like leather.

Does anyone else feed that to an 11 month old with 4 teeth?

    Thanks

I'm the queen of processed food because my cooking skills don't go much above Mac N Cheese from a box ;). Thankfully I have a husband who's an AWESOME cook or my kids would be fat & full of preservatives in no time!

In any case, have you tried Gerber's Dried Fruits/Veggies? I know we've had apples & now I think we have strawberry banana. They're small pieces & I think they soften/dissolve since Aiden ate them fine when he only had 2 teeth. I'm sure you could conjur something like that up at home if you wanted to. And I'm not sure of the nutritional content, but my boys LOVE the "Lil Crunchies" by Gerber, too. I know they just finished off the "Veggie Dip" ones & absolutely went APE for them! And it was cute to watch them eat them, too, because it sounded like they were crunching on Cheetos! My guys also like the Wagon Wheels, but again....I'm not sure how much 'veggies' are in any of the above mentioned stuff. We use it as a 'snack' while I prepare the real food they get & don't use it as actual fruit/veggie servings, so I'm not sure if they'd work or not. Just a suggestion!

So he won't take ANYTHING from a spoon anymore? My guys LOVE to eat whatever we're eating, so you could maybe try 'hiding' some pureed fruits/veggies in a spoonful of something new & appetizing (ie Mac N Cheese, cottage cheese, etc). Or like others have said, cook it into the things you're already making...pancakes, waffles, etc. Will he take finger foods from you? Would he take a bite of a veggie/fruit if you fed it to him, so he wouldn't have to touch the texture he doesn't like? Sometimes Conner will just STOP feeding himself & only take bites from me of what is already on his tray. Kids can be so finicky sometimes!

Silly Thomas sure is a picky eater! And I thought I was picky!!!!!!

    (Edited to fix links)

My DD hates real fruits or juice but she will eat the graduates. She loves those. She had really bad reflux and I think that has something to do with her hating fruits.

Well I stayed up until 2am making him pancakes with pears and squash in them. I made them with wheat germ and whole wheat flour.

This morning he ate 1 pancake (maybe 2 inches across) 1 cheese single (this was new for him to eat. usually he throws it at me and shakes his head no) and 1 blueberry. ( I snuck it in when he wasnt looking) He followed it with 4oz. of milk.

She ate 2 pancakes, 2 cheese singles, 12 blueberries and 4oz. of milk.

Generally he will not allow me to feed him anything, although once in a while I can sneak a bite in. He will let me feed him yogurt though which I guess it a very good thing.

The joy of an 11 month old! By the way, I cannot believe they are 11 months old! WOW!
