Finally successful with a regular cup!

We've been on sippy cups forever and I've been slowly introducing regular tupperware cups to the twins. I've used water at first, but this morning I put orange juice in the cups. Mikayla was VERY successful and didn't spill a drop!

Michael still needs a bit more practice. Are my twins very behind in learning to drink from a regular cup? They are 21 months old.

I don't think you are behind, every one is different. We've certainly been taking our time with our girls. We haven't been on sippies ever because my girls won't take one (unless it has juice in it which is rare). They always just drink from a straw while we hold the cup. Today, however, Sarah picked up my cup and just drank from it. It wasn't something I tried to get her to do, she just did it. Allison tried, but spilled it all over her (thank goodness we were outside). Mine are only two months behind yours and in my opinion (which I'm sure is not a very good one) you're right on track.

 

That's great! not behind at all!!! Mine are doing pretty well with it, but we still have spills regularly. I am using small cups and small quantities for clean up purposes, but I am looking forward to the day that I can say "Hasta La Vista Baby" to the sippies!

 

i certainly hope you're not behind. my girls are 20 months and i rarely even let them hold a cup on their own. I just can't stand the spills or the mess. I'm sure they'll be able to do it just fine when they're ready. This doesn't stress me at all. I'm all for sippies or straw cups personally!!
