    Hi all,

I've finally had a chance to put it all into writing!!! I will admit I've been procrastinating and have finally decided not to go all detailed.

Shareel Azhar Chand and Nazier Shahin Chand arrived into this world at 11:11pm and 11.15pm on 1st August 2007 weighing 2.64kg and 2.3kg at 37weeks and 5 days.

    The details:

I went for my weekly checkup on 31/7 and my ob advised I was 2cm dilated. I had also lost my mucous plug the night before. My ob "roughened" up my cervix while doing the internal exam to quicken things up. It was also decided if labor didn't progress by that night, they would move my induction from Friday 3/8 to the next day, Wednesday 1/8. I know my medical team were being overly cautious as my boys are mono-di i.e they shared a placenta

Next morning, I went and admitted myself into L&D at 9.30am. I was only 3cm dilated so they decided to rupture my membranes. At the same time I was given epidural and we waited for an hour to see how we progressed. By midday, things were still slow and we agreed to go ahead with the induction and was given 3mls/hour. At 10pm I was fully dilated and we started the pushing part - by this time I was on my 4th dose of epidural. After about 10mins of pushing nothing much happened. After a quick checkup it was revealed that Shareel was in Brow presentation. There was no way that my ob was going to turn him around for a vaginal delivery and after a quick call to the consultant doctor of the High Risk Team, we were told C-section was our safest option. DH and I had been prepared for everything and anything...we went into L&D with an open mind and sad our byes to vaginal delivery and I was wheeled into op theater at 10.50pm.

The boys roomed with me and didn't need NICU time at all!!!! We stayed at the hosp for 5 days mostly because of them being twins and me having a c-section. Both were slightly jaundiced but only needed natural daylight. The boys turned 6 wks today, are gaining between 300-400 grams every week and are fabulous at breastfeeding. I do tandem feeding and my precious boys have been a big help in getting this far. They took to the breasts beautifully and we haven't had any problems with BF till today!!! My recovery from the c-section was fabulous as well. According to my medical team ( I was lucky to have a fabulous team of doctors and midwives at the hosp) I had a textbook pregnancy, delivery and recovery. DH was amazing, he has stayed by my side through it all. He stayed at the hospital with us and has been by our side since then!!!

Ok that was more detailed than I intended!!! Thanks everyone for your support all the way!! Enjoy the pics of my adorable boys!!!
