I really wanted to be able to post this sooner, but even with the extra help I just hadn't found the time to type this out until now.

At around 5am on July 11, I was woken up by one intense contraction. I decided
to start timing them. They were coming every 10 minutes. I labored throughout
the day, with the contractions remaining at 10 minutes apart, but when they came
they were super intense. At around 6:30pm I decided to call the hospital, since
I was attempting a VBAC, and I just wasn't understanding why the contractions
weren't getting closer. So by 8pm, after my MIL'S arrival to care for our other
6, my DH and I went to the hospital. They hooked me up to the monitors and saw
that they were indeed coming every 10 min. So they decided to do a cervix check. I was
surprised to find out that I was actually 7cm stretchy to 9cm. So they checked me in and
let me labor a couple more hours. My OB then checked me again, but nothing had
changed. So he decided to put me on a low dose of pitocin to get the
contractions to 5 min. apart. Well again I labored like that another 2 hours
without any changes. And she was still really high with her heart rate increasing.
At that point, my OB suggested a repeat c-section. I let my DH make the decision for the repeat C. That was at about 12:45am on July 12. The nurses said I would see my baby in about a half
hour. They wheeled me into surgery, my contractions now coming about 5 minutes apart
on their own. The first spinal did not take. My legs numbed, but not my belly.
So they had to strip off all the sterile stuff and try again. The second spinal
also did not take. In 22 years, my family Dr. who did the spinals (not my OB)
said he had never had that happen. So I had to be put under. Jubilee was born more
than 2 hours later at 2:54am.

My words here could never described the amount of pain I was in while they were
trying to get the spinals to work. I had no pain relief for the two hours that they attempted the spinals. This labor and delivery ranks right up there as one of the worst experiences of my life. At least my baby is healthy. And I too am recovering well.
To be honest, I have such a relief knowing that I will never have to choose
which way I will birth a baby again...all c-sections from now on.

It was a good thing in the end, trusting God for His best, because little
Jubilee Hosanna Gail ended up being 10lbs 11oz. 22.5 inches long. The ultrasound
5 days prior said she was 8lbs. 13oz. not very accurate.

Here's how we came up with her name:

    Jubilee is our 7th child.

    Born in the 7th month.

Born in our 7th year and 11 months of marriage.

    Jubilee

    Hosanna

Edwards - all have 7 letters. (Which was her original name, but then we added
    one more middle name.)

Finally the Lord kept bringing me back to the name Gail during the pregnancy.
When my mom saw her for the first time, and my Grandma saw her for the first
time, they both said she looked like my Great Aunt Gail. Gail was my Grandpa
Ike's baby sister and also #7. We thought it would be fitting to add a family
    name.

    Jubilee in the Old Testament - 7 x 7 years = 49 years/50th year being the
    Jubilee.

We love all the 7's associated with her birth!

I'm so sorry about how rough it was! What a big baby, and so good that she's healthy and doing well. I hope your recovery speeds up and you're back to normal soon. Oh, and it's a darling name!

Thank you everyone for taking the time to read my lengthy birth story! I am so glad that is in the past. The recovery has been way better than I expected. I was able to start lifting the twins today. That's difficult but doable. I hope to be able to get back onto TS a little more often now. :)

    What a beautiful name!
I'm so sorry you wound up with a not-so-nice birth experience. I found that my vbac labor was also not-typical. The more vbac stories I hear, the more I begin to think that it's almost like your body knows there is a scar there so it keeps the contractions further apart, and the labor very long and gradual. Honestly, though, I think with a 10lb baby, recovery might be just about on par no matter which way she came out. My main incentive for vbac was the recovery, but I was terrified of having another 3rd degree tear like I had with my 8lb baby. Thankfully, Julianna was only 7lbs 6oz, so not nearly as much damage was done. But my c/s recovery was really quite on par with my 3rd degree tear recovery...actually it was better than my 3rd degree tear recovery! My vbac recovery was the easiest, but if she had been 10 lbs I'm sure it probably wouldn't have been.

Congratulations again!! Enjoy your little one!
