It was my goal of the week, to get them set up with a preschool. I felt like such a slacker that I didn't have this figured out and the program I originally wanted didn't have two openings in the morning session (or either session). But I got a good one, I'm so relieved!

They'll be going to the JCC three mornings a week MWF 9:15-12, the program is highly recommended by our special instructor and by a social worker we know. The teacher is supposed to be awesome, and having observed a little this morning, I think it's going to be great. The girls went with me, they were so cute -- as soon as they heard we were going to a school they both put on their backpacks...

They loved it, they loved the playground and the kitchen anyway, and were just so excited and happy. I'm also glad that they'll be getting some religious value-based education exposure because DH and I just don't even know where to begin talking about God (this will provide an opening).

    Anyway, it's a Good Thing.

...and part of me wants to cry -- what happened to my babies!??!!

    Marie,
:D That's great, I know both the Washington and Baltimore JCCs have great nursery school programs that are very inclusive and work reallly hard to make sure all the kids are sucessful. I'm sure its no different in Westchester. I guess wanting until the last minute was meant to be.

Glad you got it all worked out Marie. They are going to have a blast once it starts. :) I got on the preschool waiting list when mine were 9 months old! They have been accepted for the Tues/Thurs class this fall-- now I just have to get them potty trained in time!

That is great. They do grow up fast. And it's okay to cry. When I dropped my oldest DD off at preschool 2 years ago, on the first day I watched through the window a bit and had some tears come down. Heck, I cried when I dropped her off at kindergarten this year, the teacher even said to me, "she'll be fine". And she was and I knew she was, I just wasn't ready for her to go to kindergarten. So, it's okay to cry.

I am glad you found something. I have said that this has been the haredest thing to do so far as a parent for me(I used to teach). I too picked a JCC for my oldest. He starts in the fall.
    Congratulations
    Cari
