So, Allison went nuts over this thing that looks sort of like an owl. Have no clue what it is, but picked one up for each of the girls this week when I went Christmas shopping. Just curious if you heard of this toy. Apparantly it can interact with you. Another women came up when looking and was looking for a pink one specifically and there was one left. She said she had been looking for weeks for the pink one and they were always sold out. I found this just interesting because I had never really heard of them. Allison just happen to see one when we were in the store. Apparently, according to here, Walmart sells out of them fairly quickly when they get them.
I think they're cool ! But kind of expensive too. We played with one in Target and both my boys were creeped out by it.
If its anything like Furby's I am staying away...HATED those things. I remembering my sisters hiding one under my bed and it totally freaked me out in the middle of the night. We could never get those things to turn off.
My niece got one for her birthday a couple weeks ago. She seems to LOVE it. One thing I found out that makes it a 100% better, no a 1000% better than a Furby....it has an OFF switch! It is interactive and uses real words, unlike a Furby. So far this goes everywhere with her. Dinner table, cutting and stacking wood with daddy, everywhere! She is 4. You can also put it to sleep by saying 'good night' to it. This my nephew figured out and does on a regular basis...he is 9, and a BOY and not the brother who gave it to her (that would be her 21 year old brother-who I'm sure bought it to annoy mom and dad as much as a gift for his sister to love)
Here's a link: http://www.toysrus.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=11357529 I don't think they look anything like a Furby. Those reminded me of the things on gremlins. They are more computer animated, but look pretty neat if you can get them to interact. Thanks, Molly, for your response. I hope my girls like them, too. That is their big gift for Christmas.
