Figured out why I'm not losing weight

I'm breastfeeding twins so the pounds should be melting off, right? I'm sure my lack of weight loss has nothing to do with my lousy nutritional habits, how I ate a pint of Ben & Jerry's Phish Food ice cream last night or the fact that this morning's breakfast came from Jack-in-the-Box. It's that I'm not getting enough sleep! Remember those recent studies that show getting too little sleep confuses the 'sleep' and 'awake' hormone system? So as soon as my boys miraculously begin STTN, the pounds will start dropping off. Anytime now. Now, if you'll excuse me, a pint of Haagen-Dazs Peppermint Bark ice cream is calling my name ...

:silly: ah, how I amuse myself ...

Oh gosh! I thought you were going to say you were pregnant!!!

Yeah, it is very frustrating and by golly, that ice cream is not the cause!!

This almost as good as my theory of that, i am not eating enough, so my body is storing the extra fat....

As i munch on some cinn. buns..

Hey this actually happened to me! Before the boys were STTN, I was freakin' ravenous 24x7. I'd come down in the middle of the night after a feeding session and inhale 1/2 a lasagna. All I could think of was food; I even changed my IM note at work to "semper famelica" which is Latin for "always hungry". :p

As I got more sleep, I was less and less hungry, and now my hunger levels are back to normal.

Of course I developed a nasty chocolate-chip cookie habit along the way, so I still haven't dropped the last 10 pounds....

That's what I thought too  They really need to make calorie and fat free ice cream for those of us who cannot resist the stuff (like me!)

I also thought this was going to say you were pregnant! I could go for some peppermint bark ice cream, that sounds so good!

I had the same issue. I actually dropped all but one pound of my pregnancy weight within 2 weekss, but gained back like 5 pounds while breastfeeding over the first 8 months. As soon as my boys started STTN (which also coincided with being able to go to the gym), I dropped the 5 lbs and was still dropping until I got pregnant. Of course, my boys were 13months olds before they STTN with any regularity, so you can imagine my level of frustration and sleep deprivation.

i'm with you on this one! though i go in spurts of eating plenty to not eating enough because nothing really sounds good!! and i have SERIOUSLY been lacking in the sleep dept lately! i should add some exercise to it all, but i haven't done that either, though i've been meaning to for a month now!

I felt like the sugar cravings while nursing were so much worse than any craving I had while pregnant. I had a really hard time losing weight while nursing and posted a poll on the BF board. About one-third of BFing mommas couldn't lose weight while nursing, mostly because of increased hunger and cravings, I don't think anyone mentioned sleep deprivation. Now that my guys are weaned I've joined WW to lose the rest. Sadly for me, weaning and STTN weren't making that much of a difference for me so I knew I had to try harder.

Yeah, I ate so much better when pregnant... as I say to the babies when they are screaming to be fed- It's a lot easier when the placenta's doing all the work! However, now that I'm breastfeeding, my sweet tooth is huge. Mint Oreos are my infatuation- I bought 2 packages last time I went to the store... yum. I want one now!

I got a huge chocolate addiction while I was breastfeeding and I STILL can't get it to go away!!

    LOL
You're making me hungry ... which should be impossible considering I'm all nauseated from the Tamiflu!
