Ok so this past sat nt was the first time ever either one of the twins had a problem with bedtime....I could see it coming....she is getting older etc....she is DEF tired....so it's not the time....
She started screaming in her crib and typically doesn't do that, she might cry for a minute or two but goes right to sleep after that, this time she screamed and screamed and screamed, I went in to make sure she wasn't stuck or something she was fine, left and she got worse, this time throwing up everywhere! :( (from crying, she is not sick)
So I tried to rock her to calm her down and put her back in bed after that, still no go....my sister suggested sitting outside her door with it open so she could see me but putting my back to her and not talking to her. It worked! She still cried but didn't scream and realized what I was after.....5 minutes later she was asleep. My question is, she is still doing it, sun nt and tonight I had to do it again, mind you it's only for 8 minutes (I counted and checked the clock) but it is 8 minutes I hate sitting there, when will this stop?

I think it comes and goes. If you aren't giving into it then it will probably stop pretty quickly but we still go through nights when someone fusses about bedtime.

I have to agree with Aimee. Our DD does this from time to time, she will sit in her crib and sing to herself and throw toys and eventually fall asleep. DS usually goes out without a fight.

We have gone through a few spurts like this, but we never give in. Bedtime is bedtime. Barring extreme circumstances (illness, really), we don't go in to them after we do the bedtime routine. I know the pain of hearing them cry at night, though - it's so tough!!

Good luck - hope this one passes quickly!

I'm not worried about the crying, the throwing up is what bothers me....

She is definitely getting herself worked up, I wonder if she is having a touch of separation anxiety. This might be a phase that she is going through right now, I can't tell you when it will stop, one of the things I have read is that maybe each night, you can move the chair a little bit further away until eventually she can't see you anymore. I hope this passes for you soon, how did she do last night?

Its one of those things that happens some times. Is she learning to walk? Getting teeth? Any other milestones? Could also be new separation anxiety. I usually sit in the chair in their room and shush them until they fall asleep. One of my friend's DDs was a puker too... she said she spent 3 years tucking her into bed staying "Don't you dare!!!" But yours is a little too young to understand that it can be used to manipulate you.

Last night was better, only 8 minutes in her doorway, and she does great the rest of the night, no waking up calling me....so that is good. I am scooting further and further away, started in her room, now am in the doorway, will move outside the doorway tonight...
thanks, I am sure this is sep anxiety and a bit of fear from the throw up incident.....
don't see teeth or swollen gums and she's been walking for 5 months now...
