One of the twins has really been fibbing lately. For example, after I gave him his vitamin he said 'Mom, I ate it all' so I praised him for doing a good job. Later I was cleaning the floor, and I found his vitamin under the chair where he was sitting. He will also tattle on his brothers about something they didn't do. I've just been talking to him about how it isn't nice to tell lies, and how Jesus wouldn't want him to do that. Anyone else have this problem?
My kids will also do this... I just try to tell them that they will be in more trouble if they lie about something vs telling the truth. I don't know if it works though...
We're dealing with lying here too (my dd) and tell her it's not right to lie but I can't say it's helping. ardon: I hope someone gives advice on how to stop it?
We've had fibbing as well. I've asked them why they didn't tell truth.. try to get to the bottom of it, even if you think you know (ie. vitamins taste bad), maybe there is something else to it as well. I think part of making up stories completely is just trying to judge your reaction and a desire to make up stories, much like painting a picture. I'd let him know you think made up stories are a lot of fun, but they should be prefaced with 'this is pretend'. and you can take turns adding something on to the story. We've done that with both the twins as a car game before.. it works out well, and kind of uses their making up energy up in a good way I think.
