FFN test question

I have my 24wk appt. on Wed. The doctor is going to do the FFN test and I was wondering how long it took to get results.

My u/s is tomorrow so I am praying that my cervix is still holding out strong!

When I had my FFN, I had the results within about an hour. However, I was in L&D when I had mine. Maybe it is different in the doctors office.

They usually do those stat from the ob office, at least in my experience they did, and I had results the same day. In the hospital, it was within the hour. :hug99:

 

You'll get the results the same day, probably after a few hours. My office only calls back if it's positive. Make sure you ask them about that if you're the worrying type. Good luck at your appointment.

 

When I had it done at the OB's office, it took 2 days to get it back. When I had it done while I was in the hospital, it took a couple of hours.

 

Like the other's said, it is pretty fast. I got the results within an hour while hospitalized. When I had the fFN test at my doctor's office, it was a positive result. But I don't remember how long it took to get the results back???? I think it was that same day, but if I am wrong, it was no more than a day later.

 

IT DEPENDS ON THE LAB THAT THEY USE. THE HOSPITAL WHERE I WORK ( AS AN L+D NURSE) DOESN'T RUN THEM SO THEY MUST GO TO A BIGGER LOCAL HOSPITAL. IT STILL ONLY TAKES A FEW HOURS EVEN WITH THE TRANSPORT. ONE THING TO REMEMBER IS THAT SPERM WILL GIVE YOU A FALSE POSITIVE... SO BEHAVE FOR AT LEAST 24 PRIOR TO THE TEST. AND DON'T BE SHOCKED IF THEY ASK YOU WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU HAVE DONE THAT DEED. I ENDED UP IN THE HOSPITAL YESTERDAY AND THEY RAN A FFN ON ME. AND ALL OF MY NURSES/COWORKERS WHERE INQUIRING ABOUT MY HUSBANDLY RELATIONS THAT WAS FUN!
