Ive been getting neg FFN results YEAH! And I know the neg results are 95-99% accurate that you will NOT go into labor within the 2 week time..

But my question is has anyone gone into labor after getting a neg FFN result?

I ask because im having TONS more contrx this week, and just had the FFN mon. The girls are 5lbs each right now so IM sure that has somethign to do with it also.

When i go into labor I go FAST, like my longest labor was 4.5 hrs...Baby A is breech so I really dont want to wait too long and have problems...

what are your thougths about FFN results?

    Thanks

Everything I ever heard is that they are really accurate tests. But I would talk to your dr and find out what they would want you to do if you suspect your in labor. I would think they would want you to come right in and even if it is nothing and they send you home, you and the dr's have piece of mind. Just a thought-HTH

I only ever had one and that was at 30 weeks. It was negative. Proved to be true for me b/c I didn't deliver until 34 weeks. I've heard that negatives are a much BETTEr indicator of NOT going into labor than a positive. Positives can be mis-leading b/c you can go into labor or you may not go into labor within that 2 week period.

I personally haven't heard of anyone having a negative and going into labor within 2 weeks, but it will be interesting to see the responses.

    Goodluck to you!

I'm actually in that 5% - 1%. I had a negative FFN test on Monday and delivered my girls on Thursday. I would definitely call your OB if you feel a little off. I too deliver babies quick and when I got to the hospital I was 7cm and had to deliver my girls at 27 weeks. The good news is that yours are already so big! Good Luck!!

I just had my first FFN test at my last OB appointment, and I was told that when it comes to twins a negative result does NOT neccessarily mean you will not go into labor in the next 2 weeks. It's just that a positive result means bed rest. My OB said the test is more accurate for women with singletons. So I'd definitely call if you think you are going into labor, even with a negative result.

I have had negative FFN results since 24 weeks-my last one is taking me through the end of this week! YEAH! The dr at the hospital said that when you get a negative you have a 1 in 200 chance of still delivering, which she said is basically a 0%. My BHC have kicked in more too at this point, especially at night-but they are still random. My babies were both @ 5lbs too so I am sure the weight has got to play a part. I would mention it to your dr just to be safe.

    thanks for all the responses.

I dont think Im in labor, Im just concerned with all the BHC Ive been having, it seems like theyve picked up quite a bit..

Like on mon night here is what they looked like

    5:19
    5:29
    5:35
    5:41
    5:47
    small one at 5:50
    5:53
    6:06
    6:12
    6:27
    6:33
    6:55
    7:15
    7:45

So they went between 10mins, then 6mins then 15mins. I was able to space them out 30mins after the 7:45 one.

But I had quite a few last night but they were 10, 20, 15, and then 5 mins and then spaced out again..

THIS TEST IS NOT ALWAY ACCURATE WITH A TWIN BIRTH I HAD ONE DONE AND THE OB TOLD ME THAT IT MAY SAY NEG BUT WITH TWINS THAT MEANS NOTHING.

Well, I had negative fFNs, but with contractions like that, I would call my OB. One of two things happened in the several occasions I experienced contractions like that: 1) I went to L&D (that happened four times total for me), 2) I took an extra dose of terbutaline (that only helped twice).

When I finally got the positive fFN, I was put on hospital bedrest!

thanks...right now Im able to control the BH and get them to stop or at least space out..

I didnt realize the FFN wasnt as accurate for twin pg..I thought that was the whole reason I was doing the test to give them an idea of what could happen..lol oh well..

I really dont think i will go before 36 weeks...
