Fever while PG - how long is too long?

I've been battling a low grade fever since 230am Tuesday morning. I called the doc on Tuesday afternoon because Tylenol wasn't able to bring it down. She reassured me that unless the fever were high (103+), that the babies are fine.

My biggest concern is the fact that I haven't had a fever since my early 20's (the best I can recall), and if I am correct, even when I used to get sinus infections all the time (I WAS a smoker), I never really got a fever.

My normal temp is 97.6 - I've been running between 99 - 101.5 with a few breaks in between, but that's been constant since Tuesday morning.

The nurse said that if after a couple of days it doesn't get better, to call her back. But she was talking 3-5 days.

I just don't know if I am getting overly concerned or if I need to make a bigger stink of this with the doc. My DH had this without the fever for 5 days. A lot of people in town have it too. So I know it is a virus, but I am worried it may have turned into something else with me, esp. since running a fever isn't normal for me.

Did you call your primary care or your obgyn? If you called your obgyn, I would call your primary care and go in for an appt. They should be able to give you more information. Or call the obgyn back and tell him/her that you want to be seen. My obgyn told me to call if I had a fever at anytime. I bet all will be fine, but it's best to have it checked out and find the cause or find out what isn't the cause. Remember...we are paying these folks to take care of us and our little babies!! They can see us if we are concerned.

I called my ob/gyn because she prefers to treat us when pregnant. I don't care for my primary care doctor at all - if I go in, she harasses me about my weight every time.

I think what I will do is call tomorrow morning if I can't beat this. I sure as heck won't go all weekend with it!

I would definitely call again, my OB said running a fever was something he wanted to see me for. Make sure in the meantime to drink a lot of water and stay hydrated. Make sure to eat what you can and get a lot of rest. I hope you feel better soon.

Are you feeling better yet? It is hard to be sick and pregnant at the same time. It seems you have been sick a lot this winter.
