    Ladies,

I'm a first time parents and my son had gotten another ear infection (4th) one as of yesterday. He was warm all morning so I kept an eye on him until yesterday afternoon at 2 PM. His fever was rising up to 103 that when I called the DR immediately and brought him in.

However, in the past we usually keep a close eye on his fever but only this time his fever never really BROKE off since yesterday. Today, his fever has risen up to 103.5 with keeping his meds alternate Tylensol/Motrim and his antibotics for AM/PM.

I left a message with my pedi at 10:45 PM tonight. Should we have took him to the ER? or wait until his last dose to see if the fever break through which will be at 3 AM tonight.

    Thanks,
    D, w/Rianna and Justin (20.5 mos)

I would definitely call the pedi in the a.m. It could be that the meds need to do their trick. :hug99: Good luck!

Yes, make sure you call the ped's office in the am, but no you don't need to take him to the ER. My children have a history of running really high fevers for a couple of days and then they break and most times nothing comes of it. My ped said they actually like to see high fevers because that means their little bodies are fighting, HARD, and in my case it's meant I've gotten away without needing antibiotics very often at all. :hug99: I hope your little guy gets to feeling better soon!!

Well...waht a night we had! Justin woke up twice and then suddenly his sister screamed looking for her security "monkey" and took a while for her to fall asleep again. After the last dose at 10 PM with Tylensol and waking up from his sister at 2 AM his fever start to break a little bit. They are both up and watching Disney show. Justin still hovering at 101-102 with giving him another dose of motrim. Basically, he never really broke through his fever for 24 hours with the exception a short period of time. I know his body is fighting the infection.

On top of that I got a garage sale this week with Thurs/Fri/Sat! I haven't really done much to it because of Justin's being sick! I tried to get outside help with the play group and they're all caught up with their schedule this week. I thought of postpone it but my calendar is full until third week of July. That means all of our cars will be sitting outside for weeks....yike!

But thanks for advice! I will be calling the pedi after his AM dose.

When my girls get temps, it's usually 104-105 range. It was scary at first, but now 101 range doesn't freak me out at all. Dress them lightly, luke warm baths. Tylenol and/or motrin. Some kids just run higher temps.
