Yesterday afternoon I started feeling acky and like I may hav cought something so I took some tylenol at work and relaxed went home to lay down but I woke up around 6 and I guess the tylenol had worn off cause I was freezing but my temp wa about 101. I started shaking I was so cold so I got under all the blankets and had to call the DH home from work because I couldnt find the tylenol and was to cold to get back out of bed. he came home with more water and tylenol and with in an hour or so my temp was back down and hasnt come back. I feel ok today with the exception of a head cold. My concern is could this have harmed my babies? How bad is it to get a fever while your pregnant? I still feel the babies move kinda speraticaly so I cant tell by how much there moving I did feel them last night though.....Ugh I feel like everyday there's something new to worry about. Have any of you had a fever while preggers?

Hi. I know how hard it is not to worry about these things. I was just in the same boat as you. My boys both came down with fevers last weekend and I was paranoid about getting one myself. Well guess what...I got one. Mine started last Sunday and lasted until Thursday morning. Too long! I was really worried about the babies and what effect it would have on them. I am 28 weeks and also getting pretty nervous about pre term labor. I had a doc appt this week, which I went to despite feeling awful. It was reassuring to see my babies kicking away in there. If you are worried I would call your doc and see what he/she has to say. It all worked out fine for me. I took Tylenol every day and eventually my doc put me on an antibiotic too. He felt that I might have a sinus infection with the fever since it was lasting so long. Good luck to you and take care of yourself!

 Sorry you were feeling so bad.
I got VERY sick when I was pregnant (food poisoning) and ended up with a fever and throwing up for 2 days straight. I was SOOO worried about the babies since I couldn't hold anything down (not even water!). I did call my OB & let them know how sick I was & she reassured me that the babies would be OK & that our bodies protect them & get them what they need first & foremost.
Maybe just give your Dr. a quick call & let them know - the reassurance will make you feel better

When my sister was pregnant she had a 103 fever all day and went to ER that night. She was around 21 weeks. They put her on meds that weren't bringing it down and the babie's heart rate stayed over 210 for over 24 hours. She is now a perfectly healthy 2 1/2 year old. I don't think the temperture rules are different between singleton and twin pregnancies. But I could be wrong.

If your fever was at 101, went away, and hasn't come back i'm sure everything is just fine. If it comes back and/or gets worse or something just doesn't feel right, tell your dr right away, especially if you get the chills like that again. Fevers aren't something to mess with while pregnant and its better to be overly cautious with them. Hope you feel better!

like you don't have enough going on and need to be sick! :( Both my doctor and my MFM told me to call them if i ran a fever over 100.4 and if I am using a digital thermometer, i need to add a degree to be accurate. I prefer the old school thermometers that take 4 minutes to register because they are more accurate.

I would let your doctor know so he/she is aware.
