I sometimes have difficulty telling one baby from the other. today I feel what I think is baby b quite a bit. baby a seems to be really quiet. I have used my doppler and found both heartbeats. Any one else have a similar challenge? I don't really think anythink is wrong - but should I call my doc? they will likely have me come in anyway - but it is an hour away.

am i being paranoid or stupid?

    I am 31 weeks

How many weeks are you? I know that around 30 my dd (baby b) got into an awkward position that made it so hard for me to feel her moving. She would if I "knocked" a few times, but she just wasn't as active as her brother. I don't think you are being stupid at all, it worries all of us. If you are really concerned, give your doctor a call and tell him what you told us.

your not stupid.....and I think we're all paroniod to a certain extent :D

I feel the same exact way on certain days, i know that the babies are moving all over the place so its hard for me to pin point which baby is the one kicking me but still if I just feel them on one side I get really nervous. Its easier with one.. if you dont feel the baby you call the doctor....but with two I dont know what the protocol is. I'm glad you have a doppler that must have eased your nerves,,, I have to get me one of those :D

Is the hospital an hour away also? I know my dr. just sends me into L&D alot if thats any closer you could ask to go there.

My son was transverse and on top and had all the room in the world to move around. My daughter was squished down at the bottom and as a result she didn't move all that much. She would typically respond if I "poked" my belly, but typically I didn't feel her a lot. If you are concerned, I would call your doctor. That is what they are there for.

It's really common to feel one twin more than the other due to positioning, but if there's a change or you're worried, I'd agree - give your pedi a call. That said... I just wanted to say it's really normal to feel one more than the other.

I also think its very normal to feel one more than the other. In fact, for me it was hard to differentiate which one was which. I would think I was feeling one, but the it was the other one. I agree if you are concerned, it never hurts to give your OB a call. Good Luck!

I posted a similar topic about two weeks ago b/c I felt the same way. The babies had been side by side and all I felt was movement on my right side. Thinking it was Baby A and that I wasn't getting any movement out of Baby B, I freaked! I went to my u/s on Thursday that week....turns out Baby A was vertex and Baby B had moved and was transverse SO I was actually feeling Baby B's feet kicking me up top on my right side and Baby A's little patties punching me down low on my right side! <_< Little stinkers.

Anyway, I wouldn't worry too much, especially if you are getting both heartbeats and they are good rates. However, if you need reassurance, call your doc.

    Take care!

I felt the same way for part of my pregnancy.... it's so scary. I finally demanded an u/s to see my babies!!!!

I found out tho that baby a (Victoria) is breech & facing inward... so I wouldn't feel her moving. Plus the placentas are on top of their sacs. So, I couldn't feel anything..
Maybe, you're in the same boat!!!! If you have a gut feeling though, go with it... so you waste some gas & time... it's better to find out things are fine and give you a peace of mind!

I mostly felt my DD because my DS was often positioned to where he was kicking her :D

I spent the day in L&D at 24 weeks because I thought I was feeling one less than the other. They gave me an ultrasound and it turned out that my girl moved and was positioned directl behind her brother. What I thought was only him moving was both of them. Actually on the ultrasound they were hitting each other on the head. LOL.

Remember, when they move and face each other, they actually start kicking each other and not you so you sometimes don't feel that. It also depends on where your placenta or placentas are...

Totally normal to feel this way. I felt baby A way more than baby B. Turns out, baby B was just more relaxed and also much bigger, so harder for her to move. Baby A was IUGR and would scoot all over the place.

To this day, my baby A is extremely active and baby B is laid back and more "go with the flow."

I agree with pp's that that happened to me all the time. I rarely ever felt my dd for 2 reasons, my kids were facing each other alot so they kicked each other and not me. second is that dd didn't move much. She is a sweet, calm docile little girl, just like she was inside of me.
