How far along are you? I was thinking it could be either the babies pushing on your belly(if you are far enough along), or Braxton-Hicks contractions. Was it constant, or did it come and go?

I was thinking sounds like they might be BH.

maybe just tissues stretching??? you seem kind of early for braxton hicks but make sure you are drinking lots of water just in case!

I started having BH contractions at 19 wks, but this is my 5th pregnancy (3rd to term), so it's normal for me.

It could be BH or, it could be babies stretching out too!! Hard to tell but unless it continues in a "pattern" I wouldn't worry about it! :)

You can drink water, juice, milk, orange juice....etc for your liquids, it doesn't have to all be water :) I drink half water/half juice 90% of the time!

I started getting Braxton Hicks at around 16 weeks, so perhaps not too early. According to my NP there are a few ways to tell if it's BH contractions: usually happens when you are doing something "active" (this could be just standing up), usually goes away when you stop said activity, and when you push your fingers to your belly it can feel as hard as your forehead.

If it is Braxton Hicks, don't worry, it's normal. Unless you are having more than 4-5 in an hour, it is not a problem. Sit down, note the time, and drink some water.

Another thing that can cause tightening of the uterus is an orgasm. This is the case even when a woman is not pregnant, but as the uterus expands with pregnancy you can actually feel the tightness from the outside. I don't think it lasts as long as a few hours though. Maybe a minute or two.

I've also had days when things just feel tight. Maybe my belly just needs time to catch up with the growth of my twins.
