Ok so yesterday evening, I was cleaning up the living room and picked up a coffee mug that was on the coffee table not realizing that a coaster was stuck to the bottom of it. Walked by DD who was sitting in her bouncer, leaned over to say hello, and the coaster fell and hit her in the forehead! There was a little white mark which later turned pink and was gone by this morning. Well, this morning I was trimming DD's fingernails (same DD) and I nipped the tip of her finger which then began bleeding! :( So needless to say, I've been feeling horrible ever since and DH thinks it's really funny to joke about. I know that these things happen and every time I look at her she gives me a big grin but I feel like such a bad mommy! Ok, feel better for having gotten it out. Thanks ladies.

*hugs* You are not a bad mom. Accidents happen.

Just a tip, when it comes to their nails, don't clip them. Use the little baby nail emery boards. Works great and no risk of getting their little fingers :)

Good mommy ...at least you pick things up and clip their nails :)!!!

I am scared to do my Dd, Lily's nails. She screams bloody murder and wiggles and throws herself out of my arms (she is 9 and a half months) and I have actually thought about taking her to the ped and having him do it :)!

i'm sure we'll all do or have done similar things. don't feel badly! the real shame would be if you didn't care.

btw, i've heard that about emory boards, as well. i keep wanting to try it but i'm scared:).

No, you are only a bad mommy when you grit your teeth in Payless and tell your four year old that she is "acting like a rotten child and isn't very nice to be around", all while "holding" her, read squeezing her, close to you. This I did after she announced she wouldn't ever wear the white Easter shoes I had her try on. "You can buy them, but I won't wear them and you can't make me."

Oh, it gets soooo much worse than accidental clippings during manicures!!

I think we are given extra graces for having twins! We must because mine are still alive after some of the close calls I have had from just being plain old tired. Just the other day I left a cup of coffee on one of the end tables right where the boys could reach it. I went in the other room to get their Cheerios and come back and Jack has a whole cup of coffee dumped down the front of him, thank God I never get to drink a cup of coffee hot, by that time it was just warm. I felt horrible and just had to sit for a minute afterwards and gather myself. Try not to beat yourself up over it, that's why babies are made of rubber!
