I read this site every day and I hear so many stories about mamas who are struggling and having a hard time towards the end of their pregnancy, so I was hoping that we could maybe hear from some of the mamas who are feeling good and pushing through with relatively few problems and/or those who made it through with no major complaints.

I know all twin pregnancies are tough but I for one would love to hear some good news!!

I'll start -- so far I am in my 24th week and other than horrendous morning sickness at the beginning, I have had a trouble-free pregancy. I do have some trouble getting comfortable at night and I wish I had a better appetite but I have not had any scares or complications yet and I am really hoping that the rest of my pregnancy progresses as well.

I guess I'd put myself in this category. I had no complications, made it to 37.4 weeks, worked to 35. I was in pain at the end - lots of swelling, pelvic pain, round ligament pain, back pain - but I never felt like I couldn't deal with it. I never had PTL or had to be on bedrest. I never really had huge trouble sleeping. Overall, I was very lucky.

Well, I sorta fit here...I was 100% complication free...uncomfortable, but nothing serious until I had some mild contractions at 33.5 weeks. I was put on very moderate bedrest...didn't have to lie down the whole time or anything...just not be on my feet for more than 10 minutes at a time for two weeks. My blood pressure has been perfect, weight gain fine, no nausea...but now at 38 weeks I developed PUPPS and a whole lot of anxiety wondering when these girlies will come out!

(I did stop working at 28 weeks and I really think that helped with me having such a relatively easy pregnancy...)

I have had an uncomplicated pregnancy thus far, just the normal aches and pains. I have not too many contractions, no bedrest, low blood pressure, have never been to L&D, everything great so far. My peri said that I could have carried triplets...haha...no thanks!!

I'm not as far along as the rest of you, but for others who are early on in their pregnancy, it might be good to read.

I'm currently 17 weeks pregnant and I have had zero complications. I didn't have any morning sickness, I don't pee more often, I don't have any adversions to food and I feel 110%. Sure my energy level isn't what it was, but there is nothing that I can complain about.

I pray that my pregnancy progresses the same way as my frist 17 weeks, and if I get uncomfortable, I pray that I can deal with it! I have a 11 month old son, so I figure I have to suck it up for him!

I was hoping to work up until the end, but now i'm thinking to continue this road, I might want to leave work earlier, but I will have to speak to my OB about that.

THIS IS A REALLY GREAT THREAD BY THE WAY! THANKS!!!!!

I know I started the thread about how uncomfortable I am at 36 weeks, but I have had a basically complication-free pregnancy and have done better than a lot of women I know with just one baby. I felt great until 33-34 weeks and so far haven't had any "real" issues. I could even sleep and work full days and function almost at 100%. Totally knocking on wood now, but it's definitely possible to come through a twin pregnancy feeling okay. I don't think it's possible to avoid feeling a bit less than perfect at the end though. It's just a lot for a body to take for such a long time. But discomfort is different from having real issues and it seems like many many ladies on this board make it the full distance with their twins. However, few people in our real lives know what it's like to carry twins, so I come on here to complain a bit...

    Good thread! :)

I have to say that at 30.5 weeks, I've been pleasantly surprised at how well this twin pregnancy has been going, especially after my pelvis and body in general fell apart by this point with just my singleton. I have only a bit of hip pain at the end of the day, but otherwise I'm still walking and exercising practically at full speed. And I can probably thank the cold/rainy summer so far in the Northeast for the lack of swelling! I'm trying to prepare myself for the $&*% to hit the fan at any point, but I'm so grateful to have made it this far with very few discomforts or complications.

I agree -- it's not necessarily so bad!

I am 34 weeks and complication free. Yes, I have carpal tunnel and swelling but as my OB told me, I don't have anything that bed rest would actually help so she told me to keep active. I am working and I plan to work in the office until the end of my 37th week (c-section scheduled during the 38th)and at home until the day before. Yes, I get tired more easily these days but I still feel good for the most part.

:wavey: I had a complication free pregnancy. Yes, there were aches/pains/discomforts but nothing serious. I did go into L&D two times (25 & 29 weeks) because of dehydration but again, nothing major. I made it to 39 weeks when I had to evict them because they did not want to leave.

Congrats on having a great pregnancy! I guess I could fall into this category as well. The first trimester, I had all day sickness (no throwing up, just constantly queasy and no appetite) and it went away during the second. The last trimester my only issues were sciatica and swelling, both were minor annoyances in the grand scheme of things. Like Liz, mine had to be evicted at 38 weeks or they'd still be in there!

    YEAH!!! MY FAVORITE THREAD!!!

It's great to read things like this...gives me hope that I will make it back in time...Ha.

As far as my DW...totally trouble free and she is bout at her 22 week mark. The only issue is the girl has a 2 vessel cord, but they aren't worried, cuz they are pretty much the same size and her 2 are bigger than his 3 vessels.

She stays very active and works (NOW...it was 15) 12 hours a day and has off Sunday.

So far, so good on this one as well...

I had a pretty trouble-free twin pg. I mowed the lawn and rode my bike up until 28 weeks. I did gentler yoga until 31 weeks, until I just flopped over bc I was so big, LOL! Anyhow, I had some contractions at 34w 2d and was put on partial bedrest for 12 days until I hit the 36 week mark. From there, I had no troubles. I was induced at 38 weeks (hardly a twinge of contractions to be found) bc Nikola dropped off of his growth curve. No biggie, he was fine and so was Annalise. They were born at 38w 1d healthy with no NICU time. I wish you the best!

Well I am proud to say that I can put myself in this catagory. This is my 4th pregnancy and I have a three year old miracle son. I have been terrified that this pregnancy would go bad like all the others have. This is my second naturally conceived set of twins. (thank you God) I have been blessed to keep these babies cooking so long and I have made it to 36 weeks. I went on home rest at 20 weeks and have just taken care of myself. I did get gest diabeties, but I think it has helped me to be cautious of what I eat and when I eat it. I feel good, heavy, tired and just huge, but I am still up and walking around.

My babies are estimated at Baby A 6lbs. and Baby B 6.13lbs, so the u/s sound said today. I have a scheduled c-section for July 22nd if I make it (which I think I am). I am amazed and blessed and now know what it is like to be on both ends of the pregnancy spectrum. I have learned so much in the past years about grief, life and trust.

Now I just pray that everything turns out ok on delivery day and this will truely be another miracle for us.

Great post!! I too read this site almost every day and it's nice to see the positive side of our pregnancies. I know that we all need to complain, but it's just as important to talk about the good.

I too have had a pretty "easy" pregnancy....minus the standard aches and pains and being tired all the time. Other then that I have made it to 36w1d with no GD, no pre-e and no bedrest and for that I'm thankful. I've been able to continue to care for my 2 year old son and that was most important to me. I'm lucky because I'm a stay at home mom so I've been able to take a nap every day, which I think has helped a ton! My house has suffered because of it but I don't care, all I care about right now is having two more beautiful, healthy babies!

When I found out it was twins at 10 weeks I only had 2 goals, one was to stay off bedrest and the second was to keep my new little babies out of the NICU (or at least be able to take them home with me). I'm past bedrest, so I'm 1 for 2.

Best of luck to all of us!!! Twin pregnancy is the hardest thing I've ever had to do and I think we're all doing a great job!

I think my twin pregnacy was pretty easy. I had a subchorionic hemotoma and partial placenta previa, but they never affected the babies or me in anyway and resolved pretty quickly. I also developed GD, but it was so easy to manage and ultimately it pretty much went away at the end of the pregnancy. I avoided bedrest and never had any issues with pre-term labor.

I took care of my older two kids, made two trips to Disney World from NJ, cooked Christmas dinner for 50 people, and pretty much lived my life as usually for most of the pregnancy. I was cooking, cleaning, baking, sewing, and crocheting until the end. I needed to rest a bit more, but until 35 weeks I felt absolutely fine. It was only the last 2 1/2 weeks that I was really uncomfortable, but part of that was because I fell twice at 35 weeks and pulled a groin muscle. My boys were also really big for twins and let's be honest, there is no way that carrying almost 14 lbs of baby isn't going to be uncomfortable.

I had a very easy pregnancy, I worked until 35 weeks, night shift nursing, and evicted my kiddos at 39 weeks and 5 days- I was 4cm dilated and had my water broken, delivered them both vaginally several hours later in a birthing room.... My biggest complaints were discomfort and swelling at the end. No complications the entire pregnancy!

i agree with some of the other posters...good thread! it's definitely easier to focus on the aches and pains and not on how good the pregnancy is going overall. i'm 32.4 weeks along today and things have been going pretty smoothly thus far! besides being just plain uncomfortable from all of the stretching, things have been pretty uneventful. i haven't had any real issues...weight gain is fine, blood pressure has been awesome, no real swelling yet, and so far, no trips to l&d.

a lot of this probably has to do with the fact that i have a great mil. my husband, daughter, and i recently moved from ny to nm waiting for my husband to be called for a border patrol job. since we haven't sold our house back in ny yet, we are living with my in-laws until either my husband gets called or we sell our house. she's been a great help. she cooks and cleans and all i have to do is take care of my daughter. it's been pretty nice and i'm sure that's contributed greatly to the ease of this pregnancy so far!

glad to hear so many of you are having pretty good pregnancies! keep at it!!!
