How did ya'll keep two pairs of hands from waving around when feeding. They are making more of a mess then they are. Tugging the bibs and put the hands in the mouth. help

Lol...mine do the same thing! Rice cereal and oatmeal gets everywhere!! Sorry, don't have a solution though. Someone suggested that i give them a toy to play with, but I think I will just end up with one more thing covered in cereal.

Give them a toy to play with (one that can be washed easily!) or distract them with one. I use one with music and flashing lights and it keeps them fixated for a few minutes. I keep a supply at hand as they get bored quickly! I also wanted to get a toy with a sucker that sticks to the tray but havent got there yet! GL!

Well some one should come up with a solution. I have the toy with the sucker on the bottom they like it after they get done cuz it gets full of food if not. I have even tried to put the tray on the chair that prevents for 5 seconds. i have the space saver high chairs and we seem to like them. They really do not take alot of space.

You could try giving them a spoon to hold (a different one than you are using). At least that's easy to clean, just throw it in the dishwasher.

as pp mentiond I either give them a piece of something (toast, puffs, etc) or I offer them their own utensil. Usually if they're hands are waiving its cause they are trying to grab the spoon Im shoveling it in with. Now that mine are older when its really bad I surrender the sponn feeding and let them feed themselves finger foods :)

Heck, I have this problem with one month olds-can't even get the nipple in cause they're rooting so hard at thier own hands! (I have those kinds of babies that don't work into fussing for a bottle. It's sleeep, sleeep, sleeeep-*SCREAM*! :D)
Somedays they look at me like they'd love to have toast...lol!

A toy or a utensil always worked to distract mine and keep their arms out of the way. Good luck!

I give them a spoon and that usually works.

how old are your twins? with my ds i used to sit him on my knee and have one hand trapped between my arm and body and the other held down by the arm that was holding him (that doesnt make sense!!!) until he got the hang of eating and moved to a high chair. i didnt do it with the boys because i wanted to feed at the same time. we had bumbo seats (squishy things that keeps them sitting upright) on the floor. i just got good at zooming in quick!!! my diff was oran bouncing his head around. i tried them holding something but then they would eat that and not the food!
lol, so no real advice, just sympathy and laugh at them covered in mess!!! it will soon get better (i hope!)

Didn't notice how old your twins were, but eating is all about learning and it's should be fun. My girls are determoned self feeders, so I give in, by giving up the spoon and offereing more finger foods. Let them play with the food on the tray, yes i's a mess for you but great textile learning for them. Just wait till you get the mouth full sneeze. Have extra rags handy. Best Wishes
