So, my twins are four weeks old. And, we have basically been feeding them every 2.5 hours, except at night they sometimes go three. Just wondering how often you all feed your babies? Do you do it by a scheduled time or do you demand feed? At what point did they start sleeping longer stretches at night - between feedings?

    thanks,

At that age I did demand feeding. I was feeding them about ever 2.5 hours, just like you, and at night they would sometimes go a bit longer but were still waking to eat by 3 - 3.5 hours usually.

I fed them every 3 hours, during the day, for the first 8 months. I think they started stretching out night feeds around the 2 month mark. Emma slept through around 3 months, and Jake at 6 months.

at that age i was feeding every three hours during the day and on demand at night, but would always wake the sleeping twin to feed both at the same time. they started going for 5 hours between feeds around 8 weeks and then slept thru from 8-6 with a 10:00 dreamfeed at 12 weeks.

i found that feeding on a schedule during the day really helped my sanity, since i knew what was coming and could plan out my day a little.

At that age, I fed them every 2.5-3 hours, trying to keep them on a schedule....a flexible schedule. If they really seemed fussy before 3 hrs, then I fed them. But like the pp's, I always woke the sleeping one to eat with her sister. The schedule worked great, because I'm typing this right now, while all three kids are sleeping. Getting them on a good routine together helps them learn to sleep at the same times....for the most part. And you actually get moments to yourself...yes they do happen! And longer stretches by about 2 months at night. My son didn't sleep thru the night till a year, but MIRACULOUSLY the girls slept thru at 3 mos!

We demand fed all the way until they dropped bottles.
