Feeding & High Chairs?

My guys, Silas and Caleb, are only 5 months (and were born 6 weeks early), and we will not be starting cereal for another month or two. But I am trying to think ahead - as hard as that can be right now for me - to when cereal/baby food feeding time arrives.

I currently have a just-turned-2 year old who is still using the only high chair we have in the house. I don't want to have to buy more baby equipment unless I absolutely have to since Silas and Caleb are most likely our last two babies.

Do you use high chairs, bouncy seats, your laps or what to sit the babies in while you feed them?
Is it easier to feed them at the same time?
Do you recommend any particular seats or equipment?

Any advice would be helpful, thanks! Maybe high chairs or seats are going to be on their Christmas list, haha!

I didn't start using our highchairs until about 6.5 months. Before that I used bouncy seats. I have two of these high chairs. I know my friend uses the type that is more like a booster seat with tray and liked it. I think they are much less expensive.

I used the booster seat with a tray combo. They are a lot more affordable, a lot more transportable (hmm is that a word?) and you can use them when they get bigger as just a booster at the table. This is what I had for my son, I used his hand me down one, and bought one new one for the twins. I highly recommend them. Some of them even recline a little bit.

I use the fisher price space safer booster seats. I love them easy to clean and can recline great for bottle feeding them both when they first learned to hold there bottles.

Mine are almost 8 months old, and I'm still feeding them in their bouncy seats. It just seems easier than the high chair since they're not really doing self feeding yet. I do feed them together - one bowl, one spoon - alternate mouthfuls. When we do switch to high chairs, I have one regular Graco highchair and one of the booster seat type.

We used the bumbos until they were about 8 months, then they started in their highchairs....

We had been using bouncy seats but now have the Fischer Price Space Saver Booster. I swear by these as they are cheap, less "stuff" in your house to trip over, you can take them places with you (holiday meals) and the complete thing goes in the dishwasher.

We didn't start solids til 6 months, but we used the Bumbos for a couple weeks at that point (since I hadn't bought high chairs yet). I think bouncy seats wouldn't be ideal because they're not upright. Plus, as you know, soon enough they will be wanting to grab finger foods from a tray. You could probably get by with the Bumbo and tray for a while, if your kids fit in it. I love our high chairs, we went with the chicco polly ones. The only thing I don't like about them is the tray is a little tricky to get on with one hand. My mom has the Graco slim folding ones and they are really easy to use, very compact, the straps aren't as great but once the tray is on they're very secure.

We started solids at 6 months and used the high chair right away. Mine were out of bumbos by 5 months as they kept trying to tip them over.

We use the Summer Infant 3 stage seat, but we're moving into using the Fisher Price Rainforest booster seats. These are great - they're about $30 each, they have a play tray which is removable, you can attach the seat to nearly any chair, and they fold up and are portable. I didn't want to invest in high chairs, which you can only use for a certain amount of time. With the booster seat, you can adjust the height, remove the tray table, and use it as a regular booster when they are a little older.

We use bumbo seats in the am and also use the first year feeding seats, I think those ran about $30 each. They've worked well for us and saves us space!
