I have posted on this topic before but, I am truly frustrated on my guys eating habits. They eat well but, when it comes to "real" food it is another story.

Jacob will eat pasta, chicken, turkey, cheese, hamburger if I feed it to him. He uses his pincher grasp but just throws it on the floor.

Noah will pick up the food but, he wants NOTHING to do with it. He throws it on the floor and will not even let me feed it to him.

They eat regular oatmeal ground finer for breakfast, banana, avocado, yogurt. This I have to feed to them off the spoon. Any "finger" type foods it is like I said above.

They both eat the Zwieback toast, biter biscuits. Only Jacob will take puffs.

They are starting to hold bottles now but, sippy cups they just throw them around. I thought by this age that they would be past the "baby" food and bottles.

Am I stressing for no reason? Am I worried over nothing? Am I pushing them to hard? Should I relax and just realize that they will do it when the time is right for them? I am sure I know the answers to the questions but, I guess I am looking for reassurance that I am not doing something wrong with them.

    Yes. ;)
Seriously, I know it's hard, but your guys are still really young. My girls didn't get the hang of table foods until more like 15 months. Until then, pretty much the only non-pureed things they'd eat were bread/crackers, peas, cheese, and cheerios. I was really stressing about it -- especially since you see a lot of comments on TS about people's twins being on all table foods at 10 months or whatever -- but they just weren't ready yet. Keep trying, but don't stress too much about it.

I agree with pp! We have one twin who will only eat food she can chew. She actually spits out babyfood. We have another twin who LOVES babyfood. The couple of times I have tried adult applesauce or pudding she spits it out. Let them tell you what they are ready for. They will eat that food when they are ready!

Ditto. They still preferred jarred foods for the longest time. I think until they were like 18 months!

I am SOOOO glad to read your posts!!! Like PP said, so many people say they are on "real" food at nine and ten months that I have been stressed out. So, since I know some have gone to 15-18 months before they were off baby food that really eases my mind.

That means I will keep trying and pureeing the Stage 3 down to a less course texture and just offer finger foods with every meal.

Thank you!!! :bow2: so much for your posts.

:hug99: s Melony. They will get it. I would offer some of the finger type foods at every meal, and maybe give those first and give them a few minutes before you start spoon feeding them. One day they will surprise you. :)

My boys cant feed themselves! I sometimes wonder if it is because I dont give them much of a chance since I always put it in their mouth for them. When N gets a puff in is hand he holds his hand up like it is the most foreign object he has ever seen. He waits until it falls ot of his chubby fingers. At least S tries. He gets it to his mouth buthis chubby fingers just cant seem to make it into his mouth!
