My boys are 3 months old today. Two weeks ago, their weights were 12 and 13 lbs respectively and are in the 50th and 55th percentile. Recently though, I've noticed that they have decreased their intake. They usually finish a 4 oz bottle every 3 hours but now they just take in on average 3 oz. They started sleeping 6-7 hours stretches at night so we dropped one feeding as well, so they only take 21-24 oz. I know the formula is 2.5 oz per pound of body weight so that translates to 30 and 31 oz per day.

At 3 months, how many oz are your babies eating?

    Thanks

At 3mo we started 5oz every 3.5-4 hours, so maybe your guys are ready to go longer between feedings? I would try giving 4oz every 3.5hrs and see what happens
also remember that every baby is different, it sounds like their weights are good so try not to worry too much

My guys will be 3 months on the 9th and weighed in last at 13 lbs and 11 lbs 12 oz. They have consistently been eating 5.5-6 oz each feeding which equals 27.5-30 oz per day. They've both been sleeping 6-7 hours at night, too! :D They still do not have a regular schedule though. Sometimes they go 4 hours between feedings during the day and sometimes it is only 2 1/2 hours! But the total for the day almost always comes out the same. We have still been feeding on demand rather than setting a schedule for them. Sounds like your guys are doing great!

Actually, here is the reccommended amount:

    Age: 0-3 Months
    Total Daily Amount: 24-32 ounces
Number of feedings per day: 5-7
    Amount Per Feeding: 3-6 ounces

Sounds like yours are just right.

My twins will be 3 months on July 6th- at last check (2 weeks ago) they weighed 12 lbs 10 oz and 12lbs 14oz. They eat every 3 hours during the day with 5-6 ounces per feeding and have a 6-7 hour stretch at night.

Hello! My girls are just over 3 months and one eats 3 1/2 - 4 oz. every 3 1/2 hours and the other eats about 5 oz. every 3 1/2 hours. It also depends on their weights. My girls were born at 3 lbs. 5 oz. and 4 lbs. 12 oz. and are currently 10 lbs. and 13 lbs. So naturally the "larger" of them eats a little more.

I think your doing exactly what I have been. At times, it seemed my girls didn't want as much either. Go figure, it is a mystery.

    THanks,
    Jen

At 12 weeks my boys ate every 3 hours during the day and twice during the night (our "night" is 7 to 7). They took about 150 ml each time, but Evan, my bigger twin, sometimes took 180 ml. James would sometimes go down to 90 ml a bottle for a few days and then back up again. Not sure why. These days I've decided to just let them regulate their own intake. I figure they know their tummies better than I do at this point.
