Do you feed the same amount of formula to both twins? Or does one twin eat more than the other? I want to keep them consistant, but one twin is ready to increase his feedings from 5 to 6 oz. in his bottle and the other one can barely get down 5 oz. Any suggestions?

I put the same amount in each bottle. Sometimes their is formula left over but I'd prefer that than to leave a baby hungry.

Syd consistently drinks more than her sis. (Sam eats more solids). We use color coded bottles (pink & purple) to minimize formula wasting.

Remember they are different kids (even if they are identical twins like mine) and will have different needs. It's perfectly normal to have to feed them different amounts, just try to keep them on the same schedule for your own sanity.

Lily has always taken more than Grace. But they gain weight at about the same rate, because Lily is way more active than Grace and for a long while, Grace's formula had more calories than Lily.

Different kids will eat different amounts.

If one is hungrier I give them more. They do not need to eat the same amount. There were many months that my DS got 1/2 oz. more than my DD every bottle. Now they drink the same amount during the day, except the first bottle my DS gets 1 oz. more. Do what works best for you, I don't like to waste formula.

One of my twins eats about an 1 oz more than the other and they both weigh about the same. Every baby is different.

Over the months mine have swapped as to who will eat more, so I never know how much they will eat. I usually make 6oz bottles, and if one wants more I just fix and extra ounce or two. I wouldn't worry too much about them getting the same amount. They will let you know how much they need, just pay attention to that. To me, what is more important is that they eat at the same time.

My DS eats one ounce more per feeding than DD, but has only 4 bottles a day, where she has 5, sometimes 6. DS is 5 1/2 lbs heavier as well!!! [IMG]
