My DD says "ode-i-pit" for "open it." We have tried sounding it out and she does great when you break it down, but the second you put it together it becomes "ode-i-pit."

Ha Ha! Great topic! My favorite is when my daughter says "glub" for "glove". I recorded it on the computer so I will always have it :D

That is too funny! My oldest DS used to call hamburgers the same thing!!
Mine say 'oak milk' for oatmeal and 'cerls' for cereal.

I miss my boys calling the vacuum cleaner the "snooper-upper". Also, "Mama, snoop it up!" (clean up this mess with the vacuum)

Well at this stage, we dont have a huge vocabulary but I think it is cute to hear them say things like 'wa-wa' for water and 'shiz' for shoes and 'done' for down.

We haven't been talking long enough for some of the really cute things yet....but both my kids say "oak, oak, oak" which means "scoop, scoop, scoop" (like when playing with their Caterpillar tractor.

Emily has called pancakes "pan-a-cakes" forever and still does even though she is six! She also called her grandma "Mama" and still does via her grandmother not wanting her to call her anything else even though all the other grandkids call her "grandma".

    My favorite have been--
DS has a little lovey named "Happy" it's a little blanket with a dog's head. When he would say it it sounded more like "Patsy"
Then instead of saying Gavyn he said a word that sounded more like "Hiya". He just grew out of these in the past 4-ish months.

Reed telling me, "I *am* being have, Mommy." (He split up "behave," and pronounced it with a long "A," not like "have.")

Arwen has trouble with words beginning with S so right now she calls a circle an ircle (which cracks me up because it makes me think of that Erckle (sp?) character from that show Family Matters.

    Lorien calls muffins "pepe"

So many words come out of their mouths sounding so funny and cute because often they leave off the first or last sound of the words. I really have to record them talking so that I have it as a permanent memory and so I can play it for them when they are older.

Out of no where my talkative girl has started pointing to her sister and calling her "Dee Dee." Her sister's name is Sammy. If Sammy is still sleeping, she will point down the hall and say "Dee Dee" and when she wakes up she gets very excited and touches her chest and says "Dee Dee!" I think it's so cute!

They say"Mu-skic" for music. Bea has now moved on to "my" to refer to her self, as in "my want do it". There's a lot of cute ones, I love how they talk.

My girls' articulation has gotten really good, but we've still got some good ones:

    Everyone's favorite appliance, the "ferigerator"
The sound one makes when passing gas, which they think sounds like a helicopter, in our house forever will be a "hockiter"
A pancake flipper type utensil is a "flip flop"

    Surely I have more...

    This is HILARIOUS.

I have just been trying to get the boys to tell the difference between tooting and pooping.

Anytime they (or DH or I) toot the boys look around the room with their eyebrows raised curiously and announce in a questioning tone, "Poo?!"

Olivia got "Duplo" and "Depot" confused, so for the longest time we have gone to the Home Deeplo kids workshop.

Also, DH has prescription sunglasses for driving, and when he wears his normal lenses, Olivia calls them "cloudy glasses."

There's an annoying new one I'm just noticing. Instead of the annoying, "I'm goooooing to" (which I'm sure is to come), they say, "I'm gunnu." (rhymes with canoe)

"Fee Fi For Thump" for "Fe Fi Fo Fum" :)
    Pannycakes for Pancakes
    Frotilla for Tortilla
Piney Cone Frog for Horny Toad

Most of Sierra's "r" sounds still sound like "ah" so she says everything with a Boston accent and that also makes for some funny sounding words. :D

This has been hilarious reading these.

The only thing we always found funny with ours was
Vav-der - Water they still say it that way...their W's sound more like V's
