Favorite vacation spot in the USA

DH wants to go away Christmas week.  He wants to go somewhere we haven't been as a family.  Give me some great ideas 

 

To relax or do you like adventure?

 

We love Vero Beach, FL.

 

We did a skiing/snowboarding trip over Christmas one year and we had a lot of fun.  We went to Massanutten, VA, it was great!  I'd go again in a heartbeat.    My personal fav would be a beach vacation, but not sure how far you're willing to travel.

So did we, but DH now wants to go somewhere new.  We were going to do Animal Kingdom lodge, but not do the disney parks. 

I know Dh is up for traveling.  He was looking into going to an Panama again.  Found the place we stayed and loved had an opening that week.  I said if we are changing our plans, it has to be for some were we have not been.  Need to cross some states off our list.

 

I used to live in Panama!     

 

How far are you from Hilton head now?

 

About 45 minutes (or more, if traffic is icky) to get down to Coligny Beach.   We go to Hunting Island though, it's closer and waaaay less crowded. 

 

We loved going to the Wisconsin Dells last year off season. It was like we had the water parks to ourselves.

Personally, I want to go to Arches National Park. It looks gorgeous.

 

Yellowstone National Park. Old Faithful Lodge in the winter. Snow coach tour of the park. Snowmobiling. Skiing at Big Sky resort (less than an hour out of the park). Heaven.

 

All of my favorites would be very different trips in the winter than they were in the summer, but Colorado, Maine, and Alaska.

Hawaii...Honolulu is incredible

 

One place we have really enjoyed visiting is Northern California. Monterey, Carmel,  San Fran. There are many things to see and do! It is so different than the east coast and weather isn't too bad.
