What is your favorite train set that you have for your little ones? I am interested in getting mine a set. Thanks so much!

Mine are Thomas FANATICS. You can buy it cheap at Micheal's with the 40% off coupon they have in their weekly newspaper ad. HTH :)

We have the GeoTrax and we love them. You can get really creative with the tracks, and they now have trains that go forwards and backwards via remote control.

Definetly Thomas. Our sets get played with several times a day.

Ikea has some nice inexpensive sets. They work with the Thomas ones. We got ours on ebay -- just a big "lot" of used tracks and trains, which we supplemented with individual trains when birthdays, etc. rolled around.

Hi - I have Thomas and Geo Trax and they love them both! It probably won't matter which one, because they are still very different. I would say that my boys sit down and play with either set several times a day. (They have even put the geotrax train with the remote control on the thomas track and it works!!) Good Luck! Trains are so much fun! ~Mary~

We have the beginner Thomas set that DS LOVES. He is always excited to get it out. We have a more advanced Thomas set that we got for Christmas that he enjoys, but we haven't had much experience with it yet.

We bought a pack of the wood tracks/trains at Ikea, like Ellen mentioned. They liked it, but it wasn't something they begged to play with often. Because of that, we looked at a different system/set. Last summer we bought the GeoTrax set, and this Christmas added another set to our collection. They love this, but it takes up a lot of space. It won't work on a train table, but we love setting it up on the floor and putting it all away when we are done. And when we get it out again, we built it differently for some added fun.

With both sets, it takes some parent help to make it all connect together. The Geotrax system is a little more advanced, so if you are anxious to get them a set, I probably would wait on this one a bit. The wood sets may be more appropriate at their age.

We have both Geotrax and 'thomas' We love them both. The GeoTrax does get rather large and needs a whole room to make. It also need parents help with putting it together. The Thomas type we have was a table and tracks that was a handmedown. They glued the track down to the board and we do like it that way. The tracks are very hard to stay together and this makes playtime easier. We also have sometracks not glued down, so they can make up their own paths also.

We have Thomas engines, though our initial track and table was Imaginarium from toys r us. It all works together. They love the trains and play with them everyday.
