The girls are adding words like crazy lately! I love it! It's so fun to see them make the connection between what something is and that it has a name!

I got home today from a very looonngg 10 hour day at the office (and the knowledge that I have to go in sometime over the weekend <_< ) to two smiling little girls playing in a sunbeam :D

DH then sticks his arm in the sunbeam and says "Girls what's this?" They looked at him, and answered "Su-shine!" Long day out the window!

With all of the toddler challenges that are occurring and those yet to come...I'm loving this stage! Little sponges :)

Of course that means I really have to watch my language now...

What are some of your favorite current and/or first words of theirs?

Not our first, but Griffin's latest is "showzers" for flowers! I don't know what it is- but he's obsessed with my fake floral arrangements in my bedroom! He gets very quiet and smiley and whispers "showzers" at them for 20 minutes at a time. He cries when we walk away!!!

I love when the boys say "stinky" and start to tug at their diapers. It's the little things...

They've discoved 'ray-bow'. I couldn't believe I actually got them to realize where and what it was. Now they're hooked everytime it rains they're looking for them. 'su-shine' is cute, it's incredible how their minds work!

I'm loving right now that they're really starting to work on their pronunciation - it's so cute to see the determination on their faces! I think my current favorite of Bridger's is turtle. It used to be that he was happy to just say "tuh", and we all knew that meant turtle (well, at least we knew it when he was pointing at a turtle). Now he focuses on the turtle and says "tuh-TAH", really emphasizing that last syllable that he used to drop completely. It's just amazing to watch.

My current favorite of Porter's is grandpa. He's been doing this for awhile now, but it's endlessly adorable. He says it "Gum-PAAAAAAAAA". The best part is that he has always said it referring to my dad, because he lives close by and we see him often. Well his other grandpa from out of state showed up yesterday, and Porter immediately yelled it out when he saw him - grandpa said it made his year. Last time he saw them they were barely talking, so he was shocked!

What a very sweet story!!

Lauren has started saying "gooh mawnin" when I walk in to get them in the morning, and Emma will scream "mommmmmmmaaaaaaaa". I LOOOVE that more than anything.

Other than that, I can't pinpoint a favorite word right now. They crack me up with their mimicking and expressions on a daily basis. I think toddler language is hysterical!!

    "Su-shine" that is toooo cute!

One of my favorites right now is when Ben says lawn-mower. We go for a walk every morning and he always sees somebody's grass being cut along the way so he says "mawn-mower! mawn-mower!". And Jake has started saying "I did it!" but it sounds like "ahh-deed-it". We'll tell him to go do something like put a book back on the bookshelf or put his blocks back in the basket and we'll say "did you do it?" while he responds "ahh-deed-it!" with such excitement. It's adorable.

Cole likes to say "Bye-ya" for bottle (we don't even say bottle, we say sippie, so I'm not sure where he gets that). It's "Cole's bye-ya", "Sissie's bye-ya", "Dadda's bye-ya". Too cute.

I love how Amelia says "Moooommmmiee" too. Tonight at bedtime, she said "monkey" for the first time. I call them monkey's all the time.

    Cute thread!

Turner loves to say dad-o. Not sure what it is in reference to, but I love to hear it! I love when Garrett says uh-oh. His little voice is so precious!! I also always love when they say mommy!!

We used sign language with all three of the kiddos. So, Ellie has had the sign for airplane for a while, but now all of the sudden she has added a "ssshhhhhhhhhhhh..." to her sign. I like that she has made an observation and connected the sound of the plane (but still doesn't say "airplane!") with the sign. The cute thing is that she is soooo ernest when she points one out, and her sound is as dramatic as can be.

When my first born was about 18 months to about 2 1/2 or so, called my mom, 'hamma.' So funny --- I don't think my mom thought it very cute, but we loved it! :p

So cute!!! I love SuShine ;)

Our new favorite words are "SHUUUUU" (shoes), and "Seeya!" said when anyone leaves (its what DH says all the time). Oh and "BUNNYBUNNYBUNNY!" (Ana's new favorite said when she hugs her favorite stuffed bunny).

    Oh, cute stories!

We're having a language explosion here too, and it is the coolest thing. Here are some fun new words:

-Yoga. Ivy sometimes does something that looks just like downward facing dog pose, so I joke with her, "Are you doing your yoga?" Naturally, she picked right up on it. Now she'll say "Yoga!" and get in position and squeal with laughter.

-Loo (=shoe) and ooloo (=cereal). Cutest mispronunciations ever.

-Ummun (=watermelon), aka boo-dee (=karpouzi, Greek word for watermelon)

-Highway. There's a highway in one of their books, and they are fascinated with the concept. They look out at our (small, residential) street and say "Highway!"

-Cuddly/cuddle (comes out "cuggy" or "cuh-guh"). One of my all time favorites. "Hug" is also at the top of the list!

    -Please and thank you. (Whoohoo!!!!)

-Colors! Ivy says yellow (yeyo, leyo, etc), white, brown, gray, purple, pink, blue, and green --- correctly, most of the time! She loves talking about what color shirts she & Andrew are wearing.

Great thread, keep 'em coming! :)

    I'm loving everyone's favorite words!

It's also funny to figure out what you say all the time without realizing it...because the next thing you know, that's one of their new phrases!

I apparently say "I see" and "Alright" all the time!!
