Fat lips

I feel like my lips are getting fatter and fatter. It is almost weird for me to talk without noticing it. Is this happening to anyone else?

 

I don't want to freak you out, but you want to get to your doctor ASAP. That happened to me when I had pre-eclampsia with DS...every morning in particular I would wake up looking like Donald Duck. It was awful...swelling of the face is not normal...keep us posted! Good luck! I hope it's nothing!!!

 

I don't know anything about fat lips during pregnancy, but it wouldn't hurt to give your OB a quick call & let them know what is going - they like to be aware of anything 'unusual' that happens during your pregnancy :good:

Are your eyelids swelling as well?

 

definitely talk to your doctor. that kind of fluid retention is a sign that you're either heading towards pre-eclampsia or you're already there. the situation can accelerate very quickly so please don't delay. i delivered early because i went from hypertension to pre-eclampsia almost overnight.

My nose swelled. I gained water everywhere! Probably 20+ lbs of water in the last 2 weeks I was pregnant with the girlies. I hate all my photos from their birth because of it... vain, I know! It took 3 weeks or so for it to go down after and I was seriously worried it would stay that way. After it had gone back down my mom mentioned it to me and said she hadn't wanted to say anything earlier and hurt my feelings. I didn't have pre-e, but it wouldn't hurt to talk to your Dr. about it!

 

Everything is ok, I have a small amount of swelling but nothing serious. Thanks for all your advice.
