My twins are only 9 months, but I still felt it was appropriate to post here. Boy, I feel like mom of the year because my little ones are learning to stand and crawl and they are falling left and right (on hardwood floors) and bonking their heads. This always results in crying and some bruises too...oh no! I guess I should just get used to it, right?

Yes, get used to it, along with skinned knees. My favorite thing is when someone asks me "what happened here?" pointing to a small scratch or bruise on one of the girls. I have no idea how she got it but I'm sure it's from one of the hundred and two times she fell down today!

Oh yes, and you'll soon learn that even if there is a lot of blood it might only be a tiny scratch.

Yes, their legs stay so bruised they look dirty all the time. I actually tried to clean them off of Mason the other day and I'm used to seeing it. I'm always wondering if people think we beat them or never bathe them.

    Bruises?

I have not seen unbruised skin in probably a year on my two. They always have some sort of bruise on their face. And eventually, they'll stop crying when they fall. I taught my two to "brush it off" and they take their hands and wipe them on their shirts and think that's funny.

I almost took a photo of Jacob's legs yesterday because they are COVERED in bruises, as is his forehead. It would have been a sight worth commemorating in a scrap book!

It is hard to get used to, though... especially the first few times.

    Welcome to toddlerhood!

Oh man... my guys had bruises all the time... still do. Their legs are the most bruised spots. They are outdoors quite a bit and ride their bikes nearly everyday so that explains it mostly. Katie has a lot too though... but she is so clumsy and tries to do everything they do.

Oh yeah, get used to it. My twosome get a new bruise or scratch every other day at least. The fun of toddlers!

They are tough little buggers! The only thing that concerns me is when they fall off furniture onto our bare floors. Oldest DS got a concussion when he climbed on top of the table and fell off when he was 1 :( Just keep an eye on em for 2-3 hours if they fall any further than, say a chair or couch or something. The scratches....OMGoodness and bruises. Sometimes I swear it looks like we beat em. But they play hard and dont complain.
