failed the 1hr glucose test

Has anyone failed the 1hr test but passed the 3hr test? My dr had me do the 1hr test at 24wks and 28 wks. I passed the one at 24 wks , she just called me with the results from lastweeks test and said my #'s were on the borderline, they were in the 140's. So now I have to call and schedule an appt to take the 3hr test. If I fail the 3hr test , does that mean they'll do the c-section earlier then planned? A friend of mine had GD and her dr's wouldn't let her go past 37 weeks.

I failed the 1 hour and passed the 3 hour when I was expecting the twins. Just make sure you follow all the instructions before hand (simply an eating thing). Bring a book with you when you do the 3 hour, it's a long time to sit in the doctor's office. I don't know if they will have you deliver early, but they will give you a special diet and will watch you more closely with GD. Good luck on the 3 hour!!

 

I failed my one hour with a 148 or something, and passed the three hour no problem. I have heard of many twin mommies failing the one hour, but going on to passing the 3 hour. I don't know how that would affect your delivery- I guess it would depend on how the babies are doing!

 

Same thing happened with me! I did the 1 hour and passed. Then 4 weeks later I did another 1 hour and failed (borderline, as well) and then I took my 3 hour and passed.

I also ate a tuna sandwich 3 hours before my 2nd 1 hour though

 

Since you're barely over 140, you'll probably pass your 3 hour. Even if you fail, as long as your sugars are well controlled, there is no reason for you to deliver earlier than planned.
