Hi. I read that it can take up to a year before you can know the baby's true eye color. I am curious to know, if your caucasion baby's eyes are a color other than blue, when did they start to change? How soon did you see other color(s) in them? The boy's eyes were that dark blue when they were born, and now they are 10 weeks old. Their eyes are just gradually getting a little lighter but I don't see anything in them except shades of blue. Do they just all of a sudden change??

My green eyed ds Dave had his eye color by 6 months, my grey eyed Emma got hers by 4-5 months. James seems like he's going to have brown/hazel eyes, he's almost there. Seans eyes just recently went from baby slate grey to green. Generally they change gradually, but like in Seans case they sometimes change quickly. I've heard it has to do with the amount of sunlight they are exposed to. [IMG] I have no idea if that's true or not. But most babies get their eye color by 6 months.

My son's eyes are dark brown and they changed over the course of a couple of days when he was about 3 weeks old. My daughter's eyes are still blue and going by her fair skin we think they may stay, but who knows? Both had grey eyes at birth and DS's are very dark brown and DD's have gotten a little bluer but are still pretty grey.

Both of mine started out with bright blue eyes and they lightened up a tad around 3 months - and have stayed bright blue every since. They are the exact shade of my grandmothers - so I am asuming they are here to stay.

My oldest had dark, olive green eyes at birth. I know I've heard that caucasian babies usually all start out w/ blue eyes, but she didn't. Hers are now a much lighter green, like mine. It took a couple of months for them to lighten. My younger 4 all have various shades of blue eyes. It's silly, but I'm a little disappointed that the girlies' eyes aren't green, like Sage's and mine.

My first daughter started out with dark blue eyes, then around four months they changed to green and then around a year changed to dark brown. My twins still have blue eyes at six months and I think they are going to stay that way.

My son's eyes are bright blue in his one year pics, but are now dark green and it happened slowly until 18 months which is the absolute last chance to change color. Both my girls have light blue eyes, my dh has dark brown and I have really light blue, so we will just have to wait and see how they end up.

Both my girls were born with dark blue, almost violet coloured eyes. Iris's eyes turned brown fairly quickly- maybe by the second month. Nefeli's eyes are a light blue now. We're wondering if they'll stay that colour!

According to my girl' eye doctor, it takes up until 1 year. At 10 months, whatever their eye color is, that color is likely to stay. You need to factor in adjusted age. My girls' eye color can change up to 14 months.

My son was 2 - yes 2 -when his eyes changed from blue to green! I am amazed that they changed so late but it happens. I have green eyes so it's ok his are green!

Both my girls' eyes were blue-gray at birth, Erin's turned bright blue (like mine) and Annie's turned brown-green (like dh's) around 2 months. IIRC it was a sudden change. Or I wasn't paying attention and I suddenly noticed LOL!

Neither of mine had super blue eyes at birth. DS went to brown almost immediately, just like his daddy's eyes. DD is a whole different story. Hers have a little blue rim with green and brown flecks. My eyes are green now, but my mom remembers my eyes being different colors as I was growing up.

Both of mine had slate gray but Rachel got lighter and lighter and are a real light blue. Josh's went through "stages" his turned blue then one eye got a brown speck. I thought that was it...but I just notices here lately they are mostly green with a tad bit of gold specs. I think that is it.

Super light baby blue at birth and still are. I am green and DH is brown, so who knows, maybe they'll still change!

My brother went from blonde hair, blue eyes to dark brown hair and dark brown eyes at 2. It can happen later but isn't as common. We are still trying to determine what color Brandon's are going to be.
