So DH and I have deep brown eyes. Our daughter has light blue (like crystal blue), and our son has a blue (darker, but not dark) blue color. They are ten months old. My mom has hazel eyes, DH's dad has blue eyes.... Will my babies eyes change color? When do they usually change?

We were using the boys eye color to let us know if they were identical or not (my DH was too cheap to pay for the test) and our Dr. told us that if they hadn't changed by 15 months they wouldn't change at all. She said the eye color usually changes before 12 months, but not after 15. When I was a kid, I always picked the Cabbage Patch Kids with blue or green eyes so I'm so happy to have two blue eyed boys!

Our DD always had deep blue eyes like my DH and her eyes never changed color. DS started off with the same color blue but then his changed to brown by the time he hit 8 months.

    Ditto...

The eye color is what made me start wondering if mine were ID...they both have the same shade of green. I'm dark brown, DH is blue.

Eye colour usually changes within the first year, but not always, it can continue to darken for two or three years. Given the eye colours in your extended family your children might well end up with blue eyes.

I'm waiting on my girls' eye color to change also. It looks like they have my eyes [color & shape]. Mine are brown around the pupil then olive green around the outsides [you can see it better when it's bright out]. Their brown came in a few months ago, but the rest of their eyes are that dull grayish color. I'm waiting to find out if they stay that way or change to how mine are.

Usually if they will change it will by a year. Dh and I both have hazel eyes, both our dads have blue. Ds has bright blue eyes, we never in a millions years thought we would have a blue eyes child!!! Dd has always had brown.

If my kids eyes stay blue like this it would be so weird. Just because I have always pictured myself with having brown eyed kids, and I have always loved dark hair and blueish eyes, so it will be great if they stay ;), but they will be beautiful regardless. It is really weird when strangers look at my daughter and say "Oh my goodness, you have gorgeous blue eyes" and then they look up to me and hubby, and we have brown eyes, it's just weird!

Sabrina had blue eyes at birth, blueish-grey eyes by about a year old getting steadily greyer. And lately, they've started to look more green than blue, and she's 3. I have green eyes, as does my oldest. Everyone else in our family has blue eyes.

How weird. My doctor always said we'd know by the 6 month check. Around 3 months my DS turned to Brown, and at 5 months DD changed. I was bummed. DH & I both have brown but we both have 1 blue eyed parent. I was really hoping! but hey at least my two are healthy :)

Just curious...when did your kiddos eyes change from blue to brown/green/hazel etc? My DH and I both have brown eyes and I keep thinking the girls will too, but now they're still a really really dark slate blue color.

Ok, this may be a stupid question, but I've heard so many different things on the subject....

My twin boys have different eye colors, does this mean I can be 100% sure they are frat?

I have blue eyes DH has brown. Korey's changed from blue to brown at 4 months and the twins will be 4 months soon. So far both still have very ocean blue colored eyes...I am hoping they stay blue like mine! (my dad has blue, my mom has brown....all of my 6 siblings also have blue eyes and my brothers two kids have blue & his wife has brown)

Our guys turn two in a few weeks, and while they've changed ever so slightly, they're both still blue eyed boys! DH keeps telling me they'll change since neither of us, nor our parents are blue eyed, but I'm hoping he's wrong. Our boys look NOTHING alike, except they both have blue eyes and they're so pretty!

They were born with dark, dark blue. Around 3 months old, turned a light, more true blue. Around 6 months, they were grey-blue. At 8 months, grey-green. At 12 months, green-yellow-brown, i.e. hazel. At 2, their eyes are more of true green (not any brown left in there...they still have yellow flecks though).
