eye color changing

how long until their eye color is thier permanent eye color?

 

We knew Jack would have blue eyes because they got lighter right away. JT's stayed the newborn blue for a few months before lightening up and now he has a darker shade of blue eyes I would say by 6 months we knew what their eye color was;.

 

Our ped told us to wait until they were a year old. They haven't yet reached a year, but I'm pretty sure that their eyes will remain the color that they are now (blue). Their eyes got lighter during the first few months, and have stayed that way.

 

They should be set by 6 months from what the doctor told us and what I've read. Our babies had very dark blue eyes up until about 4 months and then all of the sudden they started to lighten and now both have two different hues, but light shades of blue. I haven't noticed any other changes since the 6 month mark.

 

My pedi said that at 6 months if their eyes are still blue then they will either have blue or green eyes. So I guess if they are brown they change by 6 months.

All of my kids except Tess have blue eyes but the shade of blue continued to change long past 1 year. Tess' eyes were not their final color (and maybe they still aren't, who knows?) until she was about 5, but by around 18 months they had changed enough that I knew they weren't going to remain blue.
