My 7wk old son is extremely fussy tonight and during the day today. Typically, he is an angel - eat, sleep, awake, and repeats again. Today he has been crying with the bottle in his mouth -a shrieky cry - and pulling his legs up. He seems like he is in discomfort. I am really concerned since typically alll he does is eat and sleep.
Did anyone else baby do this? What do yo u think it could be?

Of course, I have about 30 people coming to my house on Sunday for their Baptism. So, if there is something wrong, I hope I know by tomorrow so I can cancel for Sunday?!?!

    What doe s everyone think?

    Has he pooped today?
Sounds like gas or tummy problem w/ him pulling his knees up like that.

Oh man...6-8 weeks was killer for me. They seemed to be super gassy/fussy all the time, and they just hollered constantly. I was soooo frustrated. It seems as they get older their digestive problems work themselves out. Once they pooped/burped it eased up significantly. Hang in there. I'm sure they will behave for their baptism!

I'm also thinking gas. Have you tried bicycling his legs or rubbing his tummy in a clockwise direction?

    ditto.

I also read that 6-10 weeks is the hardest, I forgot where I read that or why it said that, but it came up in my memory banks!

Sounds like gas to me too. You can try rubbing his tummy, and if it continues I would call my pedi.

Sounds like gas, does he get burped alot? I used to have to burp my little guy after EVERY ounce. He is a little better now but still needs to be burped during a bottle, also rubbing his belly helped (EI showed us some infant massage techniques that really helped: with the heal of your hand rub lightly around his belly button with a little pressure, clock wise/with your right thumb rub in a stright line on his left side to release that part of the colon/with all your fingers tight go from right to left across his belly about an inch under the belly button) laying him across my legs face down and rubbing helped too. Have you tried any over the counter stuff they have for infants? A friend swears by them.

Mine did the same thing last night - at the same time! It totally freaked me out. I think it was gas -bc they were doing the straight leg/bent leg thing. It went away by today so I wouldn't worry about it. I was freaking, though, and DH is out of town for the week and it was my first night w/ them by myself.

Hope he's ok today - good luck w/ the baptism! :)
