    Hi!

My babies have been pukers since the beginning. I have gotten used to it for the most part. They are gaining weight and it doesn't seem to be anything to worry about. We just burp them often during feeding and try to keep them upright for a while. Lately, they have been just crying hysterically when we take the bottle away to burp them (about every ounce or two). They are the really deep, major cries and it takes them a long time to get a burp out most of the time. Has anyone else had this experience? Should I just feed them their entire bottle first, or continue like this?? Does it really make that much of a difference to burp them frequently if they end up spitting up no matter what?

I agree with pp. Try to burp halfway through the feeding. Sorry you're having so much trouble. Hope it gets better soon.

How old are they? Mine were the same, especially James. It got to the point where I was scared to burp him at all because he might be too hysterical to continue eating afterward! Now that my boys are 16 weeks I burp them much less frequently.

Mine would trip out if I took the bottle away too soon to burp them. Just use your best judgement. I would certainly try what pp said and burp half way through.

I agree with the pp too. I can actually tell now when my girls need to stop and burp- they slow down their sucking. If I try to burp them before then they get so mad and scream! I now burp them about mid-way through and then at the end. Good luck! -Leighann

My DD did the same thing...she still does it at the end of every bottle...just whining!!
If they are crying when you take it away, I agree with the PPs, just lengthen the time of the feeds between burps. Eventually, you can just burp them at the end of the bottle.
