Extra mattress for the Pack & Play?

At 28 months, Amy is still napping in the PNP. She seems to find it comfy once she's asleep, but she's developed a new game of folding the mattress up. Then she winds up sitting on the nylon "floor" and starts crying for me to fix it for her.

I have heard people mention getting an extra mattress for the PNP that's a little thicker and doesn't fold. Any idea where I could acquire one? I know they're not considered safe to use with an infant. But given that Amy is practically taking the PNP apart all by herself, I'm not that worried about her getting stuck between the mattress and the mesh.

No advice. I bought mine in Europe, then took it back to the US. Basically because the PNP has the same size as our regular crib mattrasses (60 x 120 cm), and we bought one crib here and shipped it (I was 30 weeks pregnant with my first). It works really well, definitely no concern of getting stuck, so indeed I wouldn't worry about that too much.

    What size is your PNP?

My parents have portable cribs at their house (not pack-n-plays, but metal cribs that fold up easily for storage), and the mattress in them is the same size as a pack-n-play. My mom even uses pack-n-play sheets on the mattress and they fit perfectly. The mattress in the cribs is more like a real mattress, just smaller and thinner (it's probably a couple of inches thick, so it's more comfy than pack-n-play mattress but the sheets still fit). Anyway, I know they got it at BRU, so you might look there for portable crib mattresses. The only thing I'm not sure about is if the crib came with the mattress or if they bought the mattress separately. I also have no idea about the cost.

I hope what I'm describing makes sense! Good luck finding what you need.

    ETA: Here's what I'm talking about: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2266103
The reviews warn you about using it with a pack-n-play, but I think it's because of the safety reasons you already are aware of. It should fit most pack-n-plays and doesn't fold.

Edited again: Okay, while I was editing FirstTimeMom posted the same link below.....at least we're thinking the same thing!

One of my DDs is stil in PNP for naps too!( 29 months)...she did that as well. I told her if she did it again- I woudl take away_______ (picked something in there with her). She did it 2x more and has not since. I also told her it was not 'safe' and she might get an owie if she took it apart (dont know if that helped too...she hates owies) since that is not what the mattress is for. She may not have understood it all, but I dont have htat problem any more!!!

You could also put extra sheets/towel underneath to make it too thick to pull up (our has corner covers that the mattress tucks under - it is a newer model, we have another PNP and it is NOT like that. But that works too...we used that trick for my other DD when we travel and she sleep in that PNP since she doesnt care if we take her toys away!

    Just ideas. HTH!

We have a store near our house that will cut foam to any size and thickness. It's WAY cheaper than a crib mattress and would be comfy enough for naps, that's for sure.

I can't find that on the Babies R Us website. Can you send a link?
