I had no idea this little subforum board existed! LOL! I always hang out on the Large Family board and never bother to go anywhere else since it kind of feels like a little family on the one board. I'm so glad to find this! What fun to be pregnant together with other moms that have twins also! I haven't been able to find any pregnancy boards that I really like and stick with. I'm not on a lot due to time issues but I will check in every once in awhile.

But we just found out this past Monday that baby #8 for us is on the way!!! We are so very excited! I have 3 singles and then our frat twin boys and then 2 singles after them. I am not expecting in any way for this to be another set of twins. I figured after 2 single babies after a twin pregnancy the odds aren't looking too good. LOL! So, I am just planning on and expecting one this go around also. I got my + test at 10 DPO so I am just BARELY pregnant since that was only 5 days ago. I am due November 15th. I look forward to checking in and meeting everybody on here!

Hi, Nikki! Glad you're here - I bet you can give us some great advice - having had singletons after a multiple pregnancy. Great! Talk to you soon!

    Congrats!! Glad you found us!

I am the youngest of 8 and think big families are awesome. I love all your kids' names. I have a Gavyn and if this one is another boy (they are thinking girl) we will be naming him Grant. :)

CONGRATS and nice to meet you!!! Quick question...I'm sure you've been asked before...lol! First of all, I LOVE your kids' names. Adorable!!! I noticed all your boys have "G" names, but your girls do not. Just curious how you picked all of that?

Well...we never quite intended it to end up like it did and now we can't quit naming the boys G names since we've already got 5. I'm very ready to stray from the G's since we're about out of ones that I like. We have Gage and Graham left. I like Gideon but dh does not. I have 3 or 4 W names that I really love but dh and my 10 yr old won't hear of naming a boy anything other than a G now. Ugh! I fell in love with the name Grayson before anyone had ever heard of it 10 yrs ago. Now it's kind of popular, which is kind of sad to me. We could not decide on Garrison or Grant for our next boy and the next "boy" we had ended up being TWO boys so it made that way too easy. LOL! I didn't agree with Garrett since I felt it was so close to Garrison but it came down to Gabriel and Garrett and dh's mom just stated midway through the pregnancy that he would be named Gabriel and started calling him that! That was enough to make us turn and RUN the other direction with his name....so Garrett it was. Gavin had been ruled out when I was pregnant with Garrett but suddenly when #6 was also a boy dh was ok with it. So..he was deemed Gavin.

With the girls we have always just picked what we have loved and agreed on...which is the way it started with the boys. They just happened to be all G names for them. So far we have noticed that we are always picking out vowel beginning names for girls and they all have Y and E in them. For our next girls we have the names Ivye and Annye picked out. Dh loves the YE in the end of the names and regrets not spelling Aubrey's that way. She's our little different bird out of the crew so it kind of fits her though. We also LOVE Lillye and Charlye for girls...which obviously do not start with vowels. LOL! So...really there's no rhyme or reason to it. Before we found out that our twin boys were boys we had 2 boy names and 2 girl names lined up. Had they been girls they would've been Ivye Elise and Lillye Katherine. Whatever we both love and think sounds entirely feminine and pretty is what the girls end up with.

And, yes....we get asked about their names all the time!! People can hardly keep all of the boys'names straight. So...there are small drawbacks to having them all start with the same letter. My sister is due with her 9th in a few weeks and all of her girls are M's. But her boys all start with different letters. LOL! She has 4 girls and 4 boys and this next one is another boy for them.

Congratulations Nikki. I am the oldest of 8! It was fun having so many brothers and sisters. We all different names and people still had a hard time getting our names straight. WHen my mom would get mad and try to call us we all had one name "RebeccaGeneErnestClaireMelissaNaomieRachelStephen". Its still a running joke in our family. WIshing you a happy and healthy 9 months!!

I'm amazed by all of the large families we find everywhere. We get stopped frequently when we are out. The majority of older people stop us and tell stories of growing up in a family of 10-12 children. I love hearing their stories. I always ask if they would change it or if they regret it in any way and we have yet for any of them to say they wished they hadn't had so many or that they were cramped. Usually their eyes light up and they start telling stories of what all they remember doing and how many best friends they always had. It's always amazing to me hearing those stories. Growing up with just an older sister and younger borther I always looked at the larger families in longing wondering what in the world it would be like to live in one. LOL! We were homeschooled and the homeschooling families that surrounded us usually had anywhere from 8-12 children. THus the reason my sister and I went on to have large families! LOL! We now both homeschool our own children.

And I agree that Gavin is wildly popular! But we did know that going into it. It was already well on its way when we decided to name him. But it was made in an effort to stick with the G's. LOL!

And the children's age differences are:

    from 1st to 2nd - a little less than 2 1/2 yrs
    from 2nd to 3rd - 2 1/2 yrs
    from 3rd to twins - 18 months
    from twins to 6th - 18 months
    from 6th to 7th - 14 months
from 7th to this new one - 16 months

So....our twins were 9 months old when I got pregnant. I really did love it. It's not nearly as hard as you think it will be and I LOVE having them this close in age. They are old enough now that they all do everything together. I love the fact that they are all boys too! LOL! They are each other's best buddies. Because the twins are right at average for their size and Garrett is a little tank baby they are all right about the same size. We get asked ALL the time if they are triplets. People cannot believe there is an 18 month age difference. You truly will love having twins and your new one so close in age.

Wow! I Just looked and your girls birthday is 8/17 and you are due 8/8!!! Was that the shock of a lifetime???!!!! LOL! How old were they when you got pregnant? Dh jokes that for awhile our babies kept getting closer together and he was scared we'd end up with 2 in the same year. You've managed to do it! Congrats and how exciting!!!

Hi Nikki! Welcome on over to our forum! I ove that you have a large family. DH & I love kids, but I swear my body would not be able to do it. How do you carry all of them? This time around I am so miserable. I wish I wasn't though. I envy your large family though. This is my last one for us. I think my body is ready to give out, lol.

Best of luck for a happy and healthy pregnancy!!

Yup. I was shocked to say the least especially since I was on the pill. They were 2 1/2 months when I got pregnant again. (First time we dtd after they were born-we wanted to wait until the pill was thoroughly in my system funny how things work) To top it off it was another set of identicals and one vanished. Thinking I was having two then finding out one took that shock away and now we are thrilled. I do wonder how we will do it so close in age but it will have to work out. The twins are no where near as hard as I'd thought it would be so I'm hoping this goes the same way.It is very encouraging to see stories like yours and to know it works out so well. When I'm feeling particularly positive I think it will be neat for them to be close in age (and being all girls same season etc. is good for clothes and toys hand me downs) I saw your family pics on the other post and they are beautiful. You are an inspiration. I'll probably have a ton of questions for you!
