Exorcism Puking

Discussion in 'The First Year' started by Guest_nicolepag_*, Apr 2, 2007.

My daughter has been having some issues and I am not sure what to do. I'll also be calling pediatrician tomorrow. But they have been overcoming colds. They both still have sniffles. 3 times in the past 5 days when my daughter has become upset (crying for more than 5-10) minutes she'll have an exorcism (aka Lina Blair) puke session. She has done this now two nights in a row (last night being 2nd). I am just not sure what to do. What could be causing this? Anyone else experience this? When she eats she doesn't seem to have issues. She doesn't have a fever. Is perfectly fine afterwards. She hasn't seem to have had issues with any of the foods I have given her. She never had reflux issues in the past and once again, it only seems like when she has been upset. Anyone? Help. I hate to see her like this.

I think there was someone else having this problem (not you), it was like a cold with the only symptom being a daily puke fest.

Perhaps she's swallowing snot (TMI) and it's upsetting her tummy, so that when she cries and gets upset she just can't keep it in and pukes.

Keep us updated on what the pedi says.

Does she cough and gag on her mucous perhaps? That's what my 2yo is doing lately. She's had this lingering cold for over a week now. It stinks! Sorry you're dealing with it too.

We've been having a problem with Catherine throwing up at night in her crib. I think we've narrowed the problem down to it being from post nasal drip. The mucous runs down her throat into her stomach and when she's lying down it upsets her stomach and makes her throw up all over her crib. She has pretty bad seasonal allergies, so we're giving her zyrtec at night now and dimetapp during the day as needed and that seems to be helping. I would ask the pedi about giving her some type of antihisthamine and suction her nose really well before she lies down. HTH - I hope she feels better soon!

Well, last night I rocked her more to sleep and no puking. She is still stuffy as well as my son but I cannot for the life of me suction out boogers. I try and try and nothing. Plus, the kids move so much that it's just impossible. Thanks for the posts!
