I feel like I could die of exhaustion! Sorry if that seems dramatic, but I am SOOOOO tired. I am sick with a cold that the boys also have. On top of that, they got their shots a couple days ago and are teething big-time. This means they have been up (one of them at least) for almost the entire night.

I also found out today I'm going to have to have surgery soon and have to pump more so I can have milk for Jacob who hates (and refuses) formula, so he won't starve while I'm having the surgery. So I started taking Fenugreek to boost my supply, but it really exhausts me. I hate pumping and bow in reverence to anyone who does it regularly!!

To top it off, my mom is here visiting from out of town and to "help" but all she does is make messes, stress me out, and go shopping for endless hours. I appreciate the gifts but I need her to watch the boys so I can rest so much more than I need more baby clothes for our overstuffed dresser-- we are very lucky to have some great hand-me-downs but no one can hand ME down some sleep!! I have almost NO help from anyone around here on a regular basis and I really need her to help me with the boys while she is here-- she only comes every 3 months or so.

    Thanks for listening... :hug99:

The cold & no sleep sounded bad enough and then you mention SURGERY! You poor girl! Plus you are such a good mommy with the breastfeeding!!! I'm sorry you're going through this, all I can offer is a hug! I hope everything quickly improves for you. :hug99:

I hear you! We are not sleeping much at our house this week. Abby has had a cold (cough, runny nose, congestion) since Sunday. Parker is on the verge and we are hoping it won't get full-blown, but it very well might. Nights are the hardest - listening to her cough and cry and know there is little we can do about it. The ped. recommended benadryl to help her sleep and that does help somewhat, but not enough to get her to sleep all night. My husband told me this morning that his throat is sore....knock-on-wood...I'm okay so far.

Tonight we go for their 6 month appointment. They will get their shots, plus a flu shot, I think. That will make for a fun night and day tomorrow. To make matters worse, our nanny had an emergency this week and has been out. Me, my husband, and a close friend have been juggling watching the very cranky babies!

This weekend we are laying low in hopes of getting everyone better and well rested!!

Good luck with your surgery and make sure your mother knows what you need help with.

Thanks everyone... sorry for the dramatic post... it's just been a LONG couple of days/nights around here revently. Today, the boys took less than a total of 1 1/2 hours of naps and are now fighting sleep (been trying to get them down for 2 hours). They're sick, teething, overtired, and just a mess.

I'm sorry things are so rough! :hug99:

Just remember that it'll be over soon and it will be something else. I think the colds are the worst, too because you really can't give them anything and the humidifier only does so much. Hang in there!

This is always the case with my mother. Plus, I think the twins "scare" her...haha...

Good luck with the surgery. And I hope you all feel better soon. And that you get much needed rest. Oh, and I bow in reverence to you for pumping in advance for your little ones!

You are NOT being dramatic, just honest! Hugs for your situation; however, just remember that it is just a situation which means it will not/cannot be that way forever. Here is to sunnier days ahead!

Alos, when my DS gets sick I take him into the bathroom and close the door and turn the shower on really hot water. He loves the steam and falls asleep every time. It really helps to clear out his congestion and get him feeling well enough to fall asleep.
