I'm wondering at what point it's ok to start playing in exersaucers. Is it when they could hold their head up, or sit up on their own, or sit with some support?

My DD has graduated from the boucy seats as well as the take-along-swing because she tries to sit up (using her elbows) and leans forward....and so that is the end of those for her! So she now has only the gymini left for entertainment! She doesn't sit yet on her own, she needs some support. Is it time for the exersaucer?

Try it! If she has good neck support she should do fine. You might have to give her some extra support around her middle with a blanket, but if she can hold her neck up she'll enjoy it.

Now is great! My guys were in them at 4 months (I think Patrick was sooner because he was so bored [IMG])... Its fun, try it!

We are using it every day, now. They love it! I still have to pad around them with a blanket because they are so small.

My girls started the excersaucer just after they turned 5 months old but weren't sitting unsupported until 7.5 and 8.5 months. As long as they can hold themselves up pretty well, they'll probably be fine. Put her in and see how she does. [IMG]

Head control is important so they don't slame their heads into the toys [IMG]

We started both around the 4 month mark and it was fun. If you need to shove a blanket around their middle, that's fine. They shouldn't be able to grab it and bury their face in it.

We bought ours at about 5 months...they could really enjoy the toys by then...instead of just sit there and stare at them. They love it now at 5 1/2 months.

I started putting our girls in their exersaucers at about 3 month, They had great head control and stronge necks. They couldn'y do a whole lot but they would talk to the toys and laugh. By 3.5 months they were chewing on the toy and having a good time. Give it a try, it couldn't hurt anything.

One of mine were ready around 5 mnths and the other around 5 1/2. I could tell my toher was not quit ready because his head control was not as good

sounds like an exersaucer would be great for her.

I bought mine a little early 4.5 mo, and the boys didn't really get into it until 5 months, but now they are pretty much a staple -- that and the blanket onthe floor.

I'd invest in 2 different ones if you're so inclined. That way they have variety. I have one exersaucer and one jumperoo contraption that has a seat that is suspended by springs. My son wyatt LOVEs this, he jumps and bounces like a wild man. Cole hasn't quite figured it out yet, but soon I'm sure he will.

We started using the exersaucer at around 5 months. I would say if the head control is good, give it a try. [IMG]
