We are planning on buying both an exersaucer and jumperoo, anyone care to weigh in with some recommendations? I really liked this exersaucer simply because it is pink and girly and we don't have much pink, but there are others out there with more toys and activities. Would it be better to get one with more "stuff"? Also, which jumperoo? The Fisher Price Rainforest one has good ratings on amazon. Or do I even need both?

I was thinking one of each to give the girls some variety- but I also keep telling myself my son would not play in his exersaucer but would spend HOURS in his jumperoo- so I can't decide what to do. I seen a really cute horse jumperoo the other day- kind of want it now- even though it isn't girly!

We've got both and we use both every day. Both my DD and DS love both and I switch them around in them. In the beginning, my DS was into the jumperoo and my DD the saucer (I know you have twin girls). But over time, they both like bost. I've got a Fisher Price Deluxe Jumperoo (http://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?st=2002&e=product&pid=35540) that i purchased used on Craigslist. I'd personally go for an exersaucer that had more things (toys/activities) over the color as the objective is to entertain and stimulate them. My kids love the mirrored flower on the exersaucer, so much so that they now rip it out of the mounting and gnaw on it. My two cents! Hope it helps.

We have the Baby Einstein exersaucer and the babies love love love it. It has this sun with a smiley face, DD will spend 10 minutes just smiling at that sun. And it has lots of bright colors that they like. We have a Fisher Price rainforest jumperoo and it's a hit as well, they can't jump in it yet but love to sit and look at the toys (especially the birds that hang from the top of it. Alot of times though the baby in the jumperoo is looking at the exersaucer toys across the room.

We have this doorway jumper http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3429513 and the boys LOVED it!!! I mean, they'd be happy in it all day long if I let them. I feel really bad that they've reached the weight limit b/c that has to be hands down their favorite thing!

ETA- I'd get one of each that way you can rotate them out. Put one in the jumper and the other in the saucer- that way they're not getting bored and you can occupy both at the same time!! And THAT, my dear, is priceless!!! :D

I would say first check on craigslist - you can usually get the for less than half of what you'd pay retail. I've said this before, so take it with a grain of salt but - apparently the literature says that the jumparoos are bad for babies' hips; it puts too much pressure on them when they land with all their weight on it. I know a lot of people use them and babies seem to love them and i feel badly that my girls have never been in one, but given the data i'm not comfortable using them.

we have a baby einstein saucer which was a HUGE hit; personally i think the ones with more interesting interactive stuff are a better investment rather than one whose looks you like; but taht's just me!

We have an older megasaucer I got on Craigslist for $7. My DD loves it. We also have a Rainforest Jumperoo and my DS loves it. I had read it was bad for the hips a swell but I asked our therapist and he said it was fine as long as you minimized the time in it. We have a therapist as DS's legs are still a little stiff from being cramped in utero!

We have one of each Rainforest jumperoo and Smartsteps excersaucer paid 35.00 each off craigslist in perfect cond. It's an absolute hoot seeing my heavier girl in the jumper. She jumps like crazy and falls asleep something will startle her and she'll jump then back to sleep. I got them when they were about 3 months old and had to stuff blankets around them and boppys under their feet but now at almost 6 months they are more interested and like the toys and lights. The lighter girl prefers the "spaceship" her exersaucer. Morgan the jumper twin will jump when you are trying to hold her whether she is in the jumper or not.

HAHA my Thomas is like that as well. I call him my jumping bean. He is a big boy and I am sure he burns a zillion calories jumping. To him legs are for jumping and to DD legs are for standing. That little bugger pulled to standing last night. She needs to slow down with this growing up thing. :)

We got one of each, and switched them out. We had the FP jumperoo and I can't remember which exersacuer - I'm thinking is there a Baby Einstein one?

    We have this exersaucer: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2585699

    and the Rainforest Jumperoo.

I like having one of each because it is a toy they can't escape from, so if I need to leave the room, I know they aren't wreaking havoc. They both enjoy them equally, and we switch them between the two, for a change.

I got my exersaucer as a gift and we bought the jumperoo with giftcards. I would check cragislist or ebay, like many others suggested, because they are expensive.
