At what age can babies start using these things? Or does it have more to do with their abilities (i.e. like being able to hold their head up, sit up, etc)?

    Thanks,
    Cary

As soon as they can hold their heads up. I think we started about that age, but had to put a blanket behind them because they were still a little small.

We had to do this too. Mine started using the exasaucer and jumperoo at around 3.5 months, when they had pretty good head/neck control. They didn't start using the jumperoo to it's full extent {jumping in it} for about a month or so, until they started getting what they are supposed to do in it. Have fun!! :D

I think it has more to do with being able to support their heads. Mine started using their Jumperoo around 4 months. They probably could have used it earlier but their feet wouldn't touch the ground yet.

Mine started using the exersaucer about 2 weeks ago, and the jumperoo just this week (b/c we just bought it). They both have good head control. I do have to put a blanket behind DD b/c she is so tiny, but DS fits just fine. They can't spin the seat or "jump" quite yet, but love to look at the toys and are starting to grab them, figure out how to activate the sound/lights, etc. They really love if i put one baby in each toy and put the toys right next to each other. They are fascinated with watching what the other is doing, they will entertain each other for a good 10-15 minutes (mommy's coffee break)!!

We started using both at 4 months. But like a pp, we needed to stuff a few blankets in there as well!!

Mine were born at 31 weeks and started in the exersaucer around 4-4.5 months. Just very short periods and we sort of propped/padded them with receiving blankets. I think we got the jumperoo close to 6 months.

Same here although I didn't start putting them in it on a daily basis until about 5 months before then it was here and there.

I put mine in them already....they don't neccessarily DO anything in them yet, but they like to be upright "on their own" for a few minutes....I even put mine in the walker, even though they are WAY too small for it, they attempt to move the toys on the tray so I think it is helping to develop their hand/eye coordination. (at least that's what I tell myself, it seems like it the way they are always trying to reach for a toy on the tray.)

I started putting Katie in hers at 3.5 months and started her in the walker a couple days ago. We do the blanket trick as well.

It's more a matter of when they are big enough and can hold their heads up for it. My oldest DD started using her exersauce (didn't have jumperoos back then) at 4 months, the twins were 6 months.

Mine just really started last week. For the excersaucer we need blankets. For the jumperoo (our favorite) we can sit without the blanket. DS can touch the floor now and jump and he loves it. He can sit in it for 20-30 minutes at a time. DD is much tinier so she can't jump but she can activate by moving around she can only handle about 15-20 minutes. But go ahead girl, you're right on schedule!

I think we started using them right before they turned 5 months, but looking back we could have started earlier because they both had good head control. In the beginning they looked so tiny in their so we put blankets or towels around them and for the exersaucer put a pillow underneath for them to 'stand' on. They were truly life savers!!!
