I've tried everything from different lotions and oils to hydrocortisone cream. Nothing seems to make it much better. My boys also get really bad rashes around their mouth from all the drool. :headbang: What else can I do to help it??

I use A&D ointment and aquaphor on my girl's face. She is always chapped around the mouth from drool.

Scarlet has eczema really bad and nothing we did would help. Finally the pedi gave us a prescription steroid cream that worked in a matter of days. She also told us to use Aveeno lotion, Cetaphil, or Eucerin lotions when the eczema is calm.

All four of my kids have it bad. What we have found helps is a bath with no soap, pat them a little dry then apply vasoline. When they have the worse outbreaks we've done up to three baths a day but it seems to work. I've been trying it with my twins the last week and its helped. Good Luck

Aquaphor was our best friend. Just like PPs, less baths, mild or no soap, works, too.

I've tried everything too. I might need a script. I have found using hydrocortisone if it's really bad and Eucerin Creme has been helping. She's still red, but it is better. I also use the Aveeno oatmeal stuff you sprinkle in the bath and the oatmeal bar soap on her. Who knows if that's helping too? I'll try anything.

Like pp said, Aveeno oatmeal bath powder. Or if you don't have that but you have oatmeal on hand, put a few scoops in a sock and soak it in the tub with them. Oatmeal worked wonders for my son when he had infant skin issues.

Steriod cream is also helpful with eczema.

I've never heard of this Aquaphor. Where do you get it from?

Ditto what everyone else mentioned -- but avoiding soaps/washes and shampoos has really helped. I use a tiny bit of California Baby wash in their hair (the unscented one), and nothing but water on their bodies. Then, lots of Cetaphil cream (the thick kind that comes in the tub). And yes, Aquaphor on the bad spots.

Minimal baths, and smother them in vaseline after bath or before jammietime. Also use Aveeno lotion and lube them up a few times a day. I've tried everything and nothing seems to work except this.

Also I use johnsons baby oil wash or dove (yes adult dove!)

    Good luck!
